We’re starting the weekend of what is unofficially the last week of
summer, at least in the U.S. where Monday is Labor Day. A tropical
storm is coming up the coast to spoil a good part of it, but overall
this summer has been beautiful weatherwise.
I just wish it didn’t go by so quickly, where winter seems to drag on
endlessly.
So, even though my wife is still healing from her knee replacement,
we’re going to spend the long weekend at the shore and enjoy the parts
of the weekend that will be nice. After all, it’s time for life to
get back to normal after her ordeal, and before the other knee has
to be taken care of.
She is healing nicely, by the way, and thanks for all the well wishes,
she appreciates them very much.
But it’s the cycle, and there’s nothing we can do about it other than
to take advantage of the reminder that it’s time to get our seasonal
sites ready for those seasons. Have you?
Halloween is coming up soon, then Black Friday and the Thanksgiving
and Christmas and New Year holidays, followed in short order by the
Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day and by then it will almost be spring
again.
I can hardly wait.
