Welcome back.
Is the news getting worse, or is it getting
better?
I guess it can’t be much worse. Latest report
says the U.S. has the most coronavirus cases
in the world. More than China even.
Maybe we’re just testing more, I don’t know.
Or maybe we’re just reporting more accurately.
My area which encompasses New York City
and northern New Jersey, seems to be at
the epicenter if you look at the map of
hot spots.
It’s just bad. Real bad. Lots of people out
of work, some will never get back because
their companies, especially small businesses,
might not have the lasting power to ride it
out and come back.
But until today, the financial markets were
happy this week. Probably because the U.S.
seems willing to throw money at the problem.
Will it be too little? Or too late? Or both?
Time will tell.
I was supposed to have my car inspected
at the DMV before the end of March, but
that’s been postponed because they’re
shut down.
And I have jury duty scheduled for mid-
April, which hasn’t officially been cancelled,
but is likely to be. That would be good. 
I keep saying “this too shall pass”.
But I’m afraid there will be a new normal
after it passes.
Some of the new normal will be good, like
people will be used to washing their hands
more often, and taking their shoes off when
they enter a house, and not getting in the
faces of others.
And probably working from home will become
way more common than it is now, which will
be good for those of us who at least dabble
in teaching people how to earn money from
home.
At least reports are that the air is much
cleaner now that cars and trucks and mass
transit is not polluting it so much.
Of course that won’t last much longer.
So stay safe. Learn something new. Generate
income-producing ideas and do something
about them, if only as little as writing
a quick report and taking 15 minutes to
put it up on Gumroad to start.
