Happy Black Friday.
If you celebrated Thanksgiving in your area, I
hope it was a wonderful one.
Gratitude is a good thing. Even in times when it
seems like there’s reason to be grumpy, there are
always things to be grateful for if you look for
more than a few seconds.
Practicing the art of looking around and of
appreciating others as well as circumstances
that many if not most of the people on this
planet don’t have is always good for the soul.
It isn’t all about food and parades and
football and sales at the mall and online,
after all.
In this country, as I read yesterday, it
started out as a way for the nation to set
aside just one day to come together when
the other days were so divided politically.
That was in 1863, if I remember right,
when the Civil War was still going strong.
And this seems like a good year to remember
that in the current political climate, at
least in this country if not elsewhere.

That’s just a short review of some of the highlights,
