Finally, a productive week. Last week was lost
because my wife had surgery, but this week was
much better, the time was basically all mine,
and I decided it was well past time to clean up
my VERY cluttered desk at the office.
That one act alone, which took me maybe 15
minutes, was the shot in the arm that made
a huge difference.
No longer do I come into the office and groan
at the piles. No longer do I have to look around
for 10 minutes to find a piece of paper that was
there somewhere.
No longer is my mindset mirroring the clutter
I faced the last several months.
And that act, along with the launch of a
great plugin from Gene Pimentel and his
domaining associates, prompted me to also
do something about all the domains that I’ve
registered over the years and done nothing
with.
Yes, when renewal comes along I do often
let some expire, but others that seem to be
good names, I hold onto to…
… year after year after year.
So this seemed like a no-brainer to latch
onto and use:
I spent a very little time setting it up
yesterday, and looked at my Namecheap
account to see what domains I’m really
not using, and set up this page in a very
short amount of time.
The plugin worked wonderfully well, and
now I’ll be able to tell how many are
actually visiting that domain in the
future since it tracks unique visits.
Now that I have the plugin installed,
adding a similar page for all my other
unused domains should only take a
few seconds each.
I might decide to spend a little more
time with the page to monetize it in
other ways, but for a quick test, I’m
happy with what it looks like.
And I just know there are probably a
dozen or more other domain names that I
can do a similar thing to… now that I
have the plugin, and a clean desk and
uncluttered mind again.
