Good morning.
I think last week I was saying what a difference
a week made (in my life and health).
This week I’m saying what a difference a day
made…
Wednesday the temperature was 90 degrees, hot
for this time of year around here.
Then yesterday, it was rainy and in the 50′s
all day and through the night.
Things change, but some things are predictable,
such as October weather tends to be rainy,
fairly cool, leading to November freezes and
possibly snow, etc.
There will be a nice day or two, and a horrible
day or two thrown in, but that’s what you get.
You can predict trends in your business just
as easily, and though you’ll sometimes be
surprised (sometimes good, sometimes bad),
on average you’ll be able to make plans
accordingly.
For me, this coming week will be a week of
planning for the future. My wife has a surgical
procedure being done on Tuesday which she’s
very apprehensive about, and I have a major
decision to make as well about one that my
gastroenterologist has urged me to consider,
to prevent the bleeding that I’m prone to.
Since it’s sort of an elective thing, I can
either choose to wait and watch (I’ve had
the (major) bleeding issue 3 times in 5 years),
or I can have surgery to remove the body
part where the bleeding occurs (they think).
So far I haven’t made a decision, and some
days I’m thinking yes, other days no way!
First I have to help my wife get through
her procedure, and then… well, let’s just
say I’d rather not think about it yet.
When I asked the gastro doctor if the
suggested surgery was major, he said that
any surgery can be minor to others, but
major to the one having it.
And since he won’t be the one either having
it, or performing it, I’ll take that advice
with a grain of salt.
