Happy Friday. How have you been this week?
Fall, maybe even winter, is definitely in
the air now. I think it’s about time to make
sure the snow blower is functional, and the
gasoline to power it is nearby.
Yet the leaves haven’t really started to
change colors, much less fall. But just as
surely as Halloween comes around on the
calendar, it will happen.
Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot was estimated
as of yesterday to be $970 million if there
is only one winner, but I suspect it will go
up above a billion dollars before the drawing
tonight, due to the publicity.
Is it likely to have only one winner? Well,
it hasn’t been won at all for several weeks,
so it’s quite possible. Or if no one wins
tonight, it will be much higher next week.
If I win, I’ll take tomorrow off to celebrate
most likely, and then back to work on Monday,
if I can stop shaking.
And yes, I’m due to win, you know? 
Do you think about retiring if and when
something happens, like a certain age or
a certain event?
I get a little upset sometimes when a
young person looks at me and assumes that
I don’t work, just because I look like
I’m of a certain age.
And yeah, maybe it’s a weekday, and during
normal working hours for most people, but
because I don’t work by the 9 to 5 clock
doesn’t mean I don’t work.
Or at least, if not exactly “work”, I
spend time doing things that bring income
into the family.
I suspect I’ll never retire, and that’s
just fine by me.
