We’re in the middle of a bunch of “holidays”,
some minor, some major.
Recently Pi Day, which was coincidentally
when Stephen Hawking, our generation’s
foremost genius, many have said, passed
away.
It was a shame that he had to live with
such suffering, but the fact that he
survived 50+ years after the 2 years
that doctors gave him to live with the
horrible ALS disease, is certainly an
inspiration to us all, I think is fair
to say.
I was wondering how things would have
changed if things were easier for him
as far as communicating. Could he have
accomplished much more? Or did the fact
that he had to focus so hard on what he
was doing help him (and the world)?
Then yesterday was the Ides of March,
certainly a minor “holiday”, but one that
stands the test of many centuries.
Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day, when
many will celebrate regardless of their
ancestry.
Then next week is the beginning of
spring. I have been waiting for that
one for a long time.
So back to Stephen Hawking. Let’s say
that he accomplished so much because
he was forced to focus so hard on what
he did.
