And yet another week bites the dust. How did it
go for you? I hope it was among the best possible,
and I wish I could say the same…
… but no, there might be some health challenges
coming down the highway for my wife. Last year
and early this year she had multiple surgeries
for her second knee replacement. The first went
well last year about this time, so she hoped for
the same on the other knee.
Nope. A nightmare, but since we believe “this too
shall pass”, indeed it did…
Until her followup visit with her surgeon
yesterday, when he said it looked as if there
is an infection, which would mean a series of
4 more surgeries over 18 weeks or so.
We’re waiting for test results still, and I’m
holding out hope that he might be wrong (blood
tests were inconclusive, so he drained some
fluid from her knee to be analyzed).
I’m holding out hope that the infection has
been caused by something other than the body
rejecting the new knee, which is what he thinks
it could be.
Until we hear definitively, there’s still a
chance that it could be something else
curable by something other than the knife,
so any prayers and healing thoughts will
be appreciated.
