We’re halfway through June. What a beautiful month June always is,
right?
Warm weather, flowers and grass growing, birds singing.
You can sort of count on these things happening every June, actually.
Mother Nature doesn’t need to come up with a new plan each year,
does she?
Speaking of which, I had a discussion with a friend this morning about
an experiment I’m doing for a couple days. I sent an email out
recommending a bundle of reports that originally came out in 2013
(Earn1KaDay members have it in the Super Vault), titled 2013 Profit
Reports.
I wanted to see how well it would sell as an “oldish” bundle.
My friend said I should retitle it so people wouldn’t know that it’s a
few years old, but that would have been, IMO, hiding the truth, even
if it would have made more people interested in it.
The truth is that the content is evergreen and still as valuable today
as it was 3 years ago, for those who didn’t get it 3 years ago.
And that’s also the whole theory behind autoresponder sequences,
a.k.a. sales funnels, where you place links to evergreen products, and
know that they’ll continue to sell passively for you for years to
come.
In this case, I’m actively promoting it this week, so it isn’t exactly
passive, except it is because the only effort I had to make to sell it
was to write an email and send it out.
When you create products, I believe that just doing the typical
launch, and then moving on to what else is new, is very shortsighted.
Most product creators that have been around for a while have a vast
inventory of information, and there are new people coming into their
universe every day, week, month.
So why do so many marketers let yesterday’s brilliance languish and be
forgotten?
You know that I follow and am friendly with Sean Mize, and one thing
that he does very well is to continually repurpose and recycle old
information. He takes recordings of group coaching sessions, sells
them, packages them and sells them again as a package, sells resell
rights, sells PLR rights, and more.
In so doing he’s extracting as much as he can out of the same content,
and it seems to work very well for him. He doesn’t hide the fact that
the recordings might have been done years ago, because the information
is still valuable.
