I think maybe old man winter is winding down and giving us his last
gasp this morning. Just a little wet snow which will probably melt
once it warms up this afternoon. What a great winter, relatively, the
only glitch was the 24 inches of snow dumped on us at once, and a
couple days of bitter cold later on. No big deal in the grand scheme
of things.
Like the weather. our business fortunes can fluctuate wildly from year
to year, and month to month, can’t it?
Sometimes you get on a streak when you feel like you can’t possibly
take another client or put in any more hours, and sometimes you’re
dying to see a PayPal payment notification.
When you’re working for someone else, you can just go with the flow
and do what you can, but when you’re working for yourself, it can be
downright scary, right? Do you hire an employee or outsourcer if
there’s too much work to do and not enough time… or do you turn
business away… or do you sacrifice your free time and time with your
family to get more done?
And if there’s not enough to keep you busy, time is money, but time
ticking away is opportunity lost to make money.
That’s why being an entrepreneur can be so scary sometimes, and great
others, and not so great still others.
Personally I wouldn’t have it any other way. How about you?
