Another week, another 7 days of incremental progress… right?
If not, can you see yourself making progress every day towards your
most important goals?
If you can see it you can do it.
It’s amazing when you do things incrementally how easy it is, and
how, when you reach your Point B, how simple it all seems.
I’m a very lucky person, I thank the universe every day. If I
wouldn’t have sat down, in the deepest part of depression and debt
and with my back against the wall, and came up with one idea… and
if I wouldn’t have taken action on it… and if I wouldn’t have had
prior experiences (a.k.a. utter and total failures)… and if I
wouldn’t have taken a risk or two along the way…
… and if I wouldn’t have written about the eventual success and
gotten the encouragement of some forum friends of mine… and if I
wouldn’t have decided to try some things just for fun like set up a
free forum, and then morph it into a paid forum (this one)…
… and just kept at it, resisting the boredom of hard work…
… I wouldn’t be savoring the fact that my income needs are met,
my debt is gone, I have a lot of online friends, some of whom say
that they’re inspired by my story, and some of whom I can help by
paying them an affiliate commission every month or every week…
Yes, I’m a very lucky man.
The first step was the toughest, which was sitting down and
admitting that something that I was doing was wrong.
And thinking creatively about how to change things.
Then after the first step, the second step was a little easier, and
today, I’m in the habit of taking some small steps forward every
day.
I’ll never stop having goals and I’ll never stop taking steps each
day to achieve them.
What about you?
Now, some will say, well that journey took him 8 years so far,
I don’t have 8 years worth of patience…
So two responses, first… the eight years will pass anyway, so
why don’t you have time?
And second, there’s another way, which Mario Brown is fond of teaching,
which is the “massive imperfect action” type. Instead of taking
small steps every day, you can take a bunch of giant ones every
day.
Both will work.
The little steps are easier, but hey…
… you can do both… some days you’ll be totally exhausted from
the massive action you took the day before, so just do something
small to maintain momentum.
You’ll get there, but only if you start and continue.
Can you do that? Well, yes, you can, but more importantly…
WILL you do that?
