This will probably get to be a long email, so I hope you can bear
with me. I’ll try to make it worth it, and there was a lot of
activity in the forum this week.
My wife and I came down to our condo at the shore yesterday for the
long holiday weekend (thank you, Mr. Columbus for discovering this
country!).
As I sit typing at my computer, the wind outside my window (closed of
course) sounds like a blizzard or hurricane or something, howling
like crazy and it sounds very cold.
The thing is, it’s dark from fog or overcast clouds and a little
misty, and at ground level it’s only 10 to 20 miles per hour winds,
but up on the 23rd floor, it’s really eerie. It was hard to sleep
last night with all the spooky noise.
I plan to accomplish a lot this weekend, reading mostly, watching
some video training, maybe some writing, surely some naps and going
out with my wife. I’m going to enjoy it a lot.
Yesterday I made a decision that I had been stressing over all
week, and that’s whether or not to purchase the famous ASM course
(Amazing Selling Machine or whatever it means). It’s around $4000
if you go on the payment plan, which was the default and what I
chose, so it makes you think about whether it’s a bright shiny
object or not.
My first inclination was that it is indeed a BSO for me. My main
focus now is on improving Earn1KaDay and on getting a bunch of
books out onto market.
But the reason I couldn’t just say no immediately was that I know
that I could make a lot of money with it, with my background in
physical products and understanding some of the complexities of
marketing them to people.
So I’m not worried about the investment in the course, nor the
investment of private labeling of a product, which is what is being
taught.
And then, in discussing it with others, I realized that I can have
the best of both worlds, by that I mean that I can do this in three
phases… learn, do, and teach.
When I started Earn1KaDay, the main drawing point for the initial
members was the mini money site business model. I had been doing
it, I had written about it, and I sat down and recorded a video
course about it. The rest is history, the forum evolved, and here
we are today.
Fulfillment By Amazon is just sort of another mini money site
structure in my mind. Mini money sites were my unique way of using
the campaign blasting methods that were taught at the time by Matt
Levenhagen. I tweaked a bunch and made it my own.
6+ years later, those same techniques don’t work the same way as
they did, because things change. Those who did them then did very
well, and those who get into FBA now can do very well.
So I’m fairly confident that once I get a product or two in place
with FBA, if successful, and I have no reason to doubt I will be, I
can translate the methods I use, whether or not they’re the same as
taught in ASM, to a business model that can be taught inside
Earn1KaDay.
So my plan for FBA is to learn (I’m in that phase now), do, and
teach. It might take several months to get to the teach part, but
the time will pass anyway, so I might as well start making progress
toward that goal.
It’s not going to take away my focus from what I’ve already
committed to doing, because I don’t think the learning part will
take more than maybe 4 hours a week, a little more in the
beginning. It just means that I’ll have to be more productive with
my time and outsource a little more than I’ve done, which is not
much.
This should be fun.

Jason Fladlien for a couple reasons. One was I thought they had the

would give me 20% profit on a failed product, not that I’ll want to
exercise that option.
