Last week at this time I was at the NAMS conference in Atlanta,
where I reunited with some friends and made a lot of new ones. It
was an amazing event, run by David Perdew, and I don’t know how he
does it. There were 4 sessions going most of the time, so lots of
instructors to recruit and coordinate.
He does this twice a year, and does have lots of help from
volunteer “aides” though, so that’s part of it, but still…
I picked up some good ah ha moments, and had a good time, but
coming so soon after the Earn1KaDay seminar, from which I hadn’t
fully recovered, made it challenging to be there. If I wouldn’t
have been a speaker, I probably wouldn’t have gone, because I had
some aches and pains that weren’t so pleasant.
One thing I’ve committed to is getting in better shape so that
next year I won’t have the aches and pains. 
One thing that David did, which I really liked, was he allowed
speakers to schedule one on one time in 15 minute blocks with
anyone who was fortunate enough to schedule it. I’d really like to
do that, maybe as part of the mastermind, or maybe sometime else in
the weekend. What a wonderful way to add extra value, and for the
speakers, what a wonderful way to maybe find new coaching clients
and make sure they’re a good fit.
So, since so many there said that they fully intend to go to the
E1K event next year, along with the regulars, and along with a
whole boatload of people from the Santa Clarita clan, I talked to
some (not all) of our speakers that have already committed to speak
again, and am looking at a June conference, so as to leave a longer
gap between E1K and NAMS.
The most likely date is June 20-22, or else June 27-29. I hope you
can clear your calendar, and I’m pretty confident already that it
will be the best attendance yet.
Don’t worry, I won’t let it grow past the number that makes it easy
to network with everyone. NAMS had over 300 attendees, and the
Warrior Events were in the range of 200 or so, I guess, and those
are, in my opinion, too crowded to get up close and personal with
everyone that you want to.
Once I nail down the dates, I’ll put up a sales page and start
selling tickets, and I do expect to sell out this time, since I’ll
probably limit sales to around 100 people or so.
And if you would like to be a speaker, contact me with your idea.
Maybe we could even have a couple sessions going simultaneously
during part of the event.
