Well, for the first time (I think) since we moved Earn1KaDay over
to a new dedicated server in 2008, and then started building out
all my other sites onto it, the server was down for more than a few
minutes. Actually it was down around 12 hours or so.
I remember when it was on my prior server that being down wasn’t
all that unusual, and very stressful… and this time was stressful
as well.
Fortunately my gut feeling said that my HostGator rep was wrong
when he diagnosed the problem as a nameserver issue, so I asked my
tech guy Steve Warwick (clickbuild) to step in, and sure enough, it
was something completely different, which was then fixed.
Things happen, you know? I apologize for the downtime, and
hopefully it will continue to be smooth sailing for the long term.
Honestly, I’ll take a 12 hour downtime every 5 years if that’s
what’s needed, and that’s all.
