I’m looking out my window at the condo and can’t see a thing, the
fog is so heavy. Mother nature is truly amazing at times. Yesterday
I took a nice long walk in the morning in pure beautiful warm
sunshine, but the day quickly turned on us, getting colder and much
windier as the evening progressed. It was foggy when I went to bed,
but nothing like I woke up to a while ago.
This time last week I was about to board a plane to be whisked away
to Raleigh, NC for the Warrior Event.
It was quite a week. Met some new people, renewed friendships with
others, learned a few things, and more.
If asked the highlights… well, Ken McArthur’s keynote speech was
sort of eye opening, but you had to be there, I think, to learn how
someone turned $100 cash into around $16,000 value before our eyes.
Don Wilson’s talk was a must see for me (there were talks that I
chose to miss just out of pure exhaustion, but not Don’s) and the
main takeaway from it (build a sales funnel by deciding on the high
ticket product at the end, first), was something I needed to hear
at this point in time.
Colin Theriot has totally changed his image, it seems, but he has
the same amount of genius when it comes to what he does so well
(telling stories via copy).
Mike Lantz gave a short talk about his upcoming new product that
he’s been working on for about 8 months. He invited attendees to
sign up for what I guess is beta test, and it’s pretty cool. He
uses Skype as an autoresponder service and can pretty much guarantee
100% email delivery, with very high open rates.
I also saw in action how speakers can use the stage to deliver
more pitch than substance when given the opportunity. I won’t name
names there because I might be the only who had that perception,
but it made me more happy than ever how our Earn1KaDay speakers
act with respect for their audience.
Speaking of which…
My main goal for this one was to network and perhaps find a couple
new speakers for my own event in July. Mission accomplished, and
this week I hope to have a sales page in place with a discount
price on it for those that are willing to register early.
Save the dates of July 12-14, if you haven’t already.
First I have to get firm commitments from the speakers who’ve said
maybe, and if that’s not possible to see if I have enough anyway
that are definites already (I think that’s the case, actually).
Last year I had too many good speakers, so I had to scramble to
figure out how to give them all time on stage. The prior year I
had 3 speakers had to cancel at the last minute (really last
minute in 2 of the cases), so there’s always something.
Anyway, it was sort of a slow news week at the forum, here’s where
we’re at as we approach the income tax deadline in the U.S…
