I decided to stick around northern NJ this weekend instead of going
down to the shore. My wife had other things to do anyway, and with
the flu going around, I didn’t want to be in a big room (casino or
restaurant) with hundreds of people, all potential carriers.
So I’m staying home and probably working and relaxing and watching
football on TV some, not that I care much about the results (of the
football, that is).
I hope you can stay healthy and relax and get stuff done, all at
the same time as well.
So are we settled in for 2013? Anything different with you? I’m
doing some experiments this weekend, I’ll talk about them below,
and am anxious to see what happens.
Remember, if you’re not moving, you’re not growing, and even if the
movement is backwards, it’s still positive if it’s teaching you
something useful that you can pledge to remember next time.
And next time, you can take two big steps to make up for the little
step backwards.

I mentioned experiments that I’m conducting this weekend.
Yes. I’m bringing back Five Buck Friday today. I used to do it
every week for several months, and it won’t be every month, but it
will be more than never.
One experiment I’m doing is that Five Buck Friday, like it used to
be, was to find an excellent product, put it on sale for $5 (I’m
the 5 Buck Guy, remember), but instead of doing it for the entire
weekend, it will only be that price on Friday.
Or more accurately, until 9 a.m. eastern on Saturday, when it turns
into a dime sale from that point forward.
So where we burned out when Rachel and I were trying to do a FBF
and a separate dime sale every week, now I just have to pick one
product for a week.
That’s experiment one.
The next one is the upsell process. I learned some cool things from
the holiday sale, and am applying it to the upsell funnel. That
will be interesting to observe.
Then experiment three is that affiliates who promote the FBF/dime
sale will get 100% commissions, those who get sales by way of
cookies will earn 50%, so it will encourage those who promote
actively.
I’ll bet at least one of these experiments works out well, I’m
hoping for more, but as long as I’m not shut out, I’ll be happy.
I’m not promising a FBF/dime sale every weekend, but a couple a
month is my goal, and I’m going to try to put them together enough
in advance to give more notice to affiliates. I know from my own
experience that there are weeks where more promo requests are
available than time. This has been an especially draining week, a
lot of good products from friends that I had to say no to, and not
because the products weren’t worthy.

Caution in that if you purchased Info Pipelines during my holiday
sale, you sort of have this already. I did make some personal
changes to that version, and added a nice bonus, but just be aware
that it’s 90% the same. Personally I believe that the 10% added is
worth more than $5 anyway, but I’m biased.
