I’ve been pretty unproductive this week, due to my son being
hospitalized on Monday. Things looked pretty bleak for a while, and
he was moved to intensive care on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning
I spoke to the doctor, and he was considering completely sedating
him for 3 or 4 days, to ensure that his blood pressure and
heartbeat, which were through the roof, didn’t cause a heart attack
or stroke.
The anesthesiologist came around and they watched carefully.
Little did they know that I had asked for the full power from our
Earn1KaDay family to send prayers and hugs Mark’s way in this

By Wednesday night, Mark was sleeping peacefully. Thursday he was
eating a little and more alert. Thursday afternoon he was moved out
of ICU, was sitting up and snacking on junk food.
The catheter and IV tubes had been removed, and we were able to
take a short walk around the floor.
The doctor said on Thursday that he might be able to go home before
Christmas, and we were praying for just that, considering it will
be our granddaughter’s first real Christmas (born last November)
and it would be sad to not have both parents there.
This morning, we received a call that he’s being discharged today.
Miracles do happen, and I totally attribute it to the power of
prayer from the collective Earn1KaDay membership.
Some things didn’t get done this week, but once this is totally
behind us and the holiday is properly celebrated, I’ll work on
catching up.
I had hoped to get a holiday special ready this week, but an end
of year one will be more possible. If I can get it together at all,
I’ll make sure it’s truly extraordinary, and more so for members.
So to all of you, thank you so much, and may the blessings of this
holiday season extend to you and all of your loved ones.
