Case-study on traffic generation plugins…

by Rachel Rofe

Hey guys,

It’s Rachel here!

Back on May 25th, Sophie, the affiliate manager for Andy Fletcher contacted me wanting me to promote 3 of her products:

WP Syndicator

Digi Link Doctor

Digi Traffic Multiplier

I didn’t know Sophie and I know that most of those SEO plugins NEVER work for me, so I was hesitant.

I asked her to give me review copies of each of them and told her I’d test them myself before telling you about them.

As soon as I got them I gave them over to my tech assistant. On May 26th he put WP Syndicator on 2 of our niche sites, Digi Traffic Multiplier on another 2 niche sites, and Digi Link Doctor on another 2 sites.

I figured I would compare traffic pre-plugins to traffic post-plugins and show you what happened.

Here Were The Results:

These sites are niche sites, so we’ll never see HUGE traffic from them.

However in the 26 following days we DID get increases in percentages of traffic.

Considering we did nothing but install a plugin (literally we did NOTHING else), I’m happy to tell you about them.

(This will also keep increasing month after month, and we’ll continue to do NO work).

See For Yourself:

Plugin #1: WP Syndicator

Site #1 Using WP Syndicator:

Here’s what happened:

32 visits compared to 20 month before

53 pageviews compared to 28 month before

1.66 pages/visit compared to 1.40 month before

78.12% bounce rate compared to 85% month before

2:14 average time on site compared to 1:11 month before

81.25% new visits compared to 95% the month before (not sure what that’s about).

You can see the full graph right here.

Site #2 Using WP Syndicator:

32 visits compared to 7 month before

110 pageviews compared to 24 month before

3.44 pages/visit compared to 3.43 month before

34.38% bounce rate compared to 14.29% month before

9:53 average time on site compared to 10:42 month before

37.50% new visits compared to 85.71% the month before.

You can see the full graph right here.

Plugin #2: Digi Link Doctor

Site #1 Using Digi Doctor:

Here’s what happened:

92 visits compared to 42 month before

114 pageviews compared to 50 month before

1.24 pages/visit compared to 1.19 month before

85.87% bounce rate compared to 85.71% month before

0:28 average time on site compared to 0:16 month before (wow, that’s bad!)

90.22% new visits compared to 90.48% the month before.

You can see the full graph right here.

Site #2 Using Digi Doctor:

Here’s what happened:

75 visits compared to 68 month before

1.8 pages/visit compared to 1.75 month before

69.33% bounce rate compared to 70.59% month before

2:25 average time on site compared to 0:56 month before

85.33% new visits compared to 91.18% the month before.

You can see the full graph right here.

Plugin #3: Digi Traffic Multiplier

Site #1 Using Digi Traffic Multiplier:

Here’s what happened:

32 visits compared to 13 month before

50 pageviews compared to 20 month before

1.56 pages/visit compared to 1.54 month before

65.62% bounce rate compared to 61.54% month before

2:02 average time on site compared to 3:58 month before

87.50% new visits compared to 100% the month before.

You can see the full graph right here.

Site #2 Using Digi Traffic Multiplier:

Here’s what happened:

20 visits compared to 14 month before

46 pageviews compared to 18 month before

2.30 pages/visit compared to 1.29 month before

45.00% bounce rate compared to 78.57% month before

4:34 average time on site compared to 0:05 month before

75.00% new visits compared to 92.86% the month before.

You can see the full graph right here.

My Final Thoughts

Like I said, we did absolutely NO work on these sites except for add the plugins.

All of them got us extra traffic (where other sites in our niche portfolio were trending DOWN).

I don’t know what your budget looks like. I’d probably buy all of them. If only ONE plugin could get a site an increase of 300%+, imagine if all 3 of them worked together?

Dennis and I will be adding all 3 to all of our sites.

If you only have the budget for one, I’d start out with WP Syndicator and then work into getting others. When we did our survey a lot of you said traffic generation was very important for you to learn about, and what’s better than hands-free traffic? :)

I hope this helps!

With love,
Rachel

Probably I can’t go to use the multiplier one because my site isn’t about something really, but the syndicator can be good for me I think.

Thank you for the great info. Its exactly what I was waiting for to bring more traffic to my blogs.

Wish I had the money to buy all 3.

Awesome work with the detailed case study, Rachel :) I have had my eyes on WPSyndicator for some time now, I will probably bite the bullet soon-ish now!

    @Jack – hehe, fair enough!

@Alfred – That rocks! Hopefully one of the plugins will be great enough to earn you more money to let you reinvest. =)

@Avani – Thank you! I’d love to hear what you think when you get it!

Wow! Thanks for checking those out for us. I’m glad to hear it because I just bought WP Syndicator last week but haven’t installed it on any of my sites yet. Guess I better get busy tomorrow. lol

    Hi Rachel ,

A very interesting and useful comparison which is a rarity (This is the first time I have seen WP Syndicator compared to any other plugin)

Do all three use the same social sites or are they completely different in the way they generate links?

Are these comparable to Digi Article Blaster? (A wp plugin currently a WSO and also by Andy Fletcher-It’s currently $37 for a multisite licence)

A dilemma for anyone desperate for traffic-what do you think Rachel?

I’d just state a word of caution about Digi Link Doctor. I bought it and used it on two of my main sites and uncovered a whole heap of 404 errors which I thought was great, until I pressed a few buttons on Digi Link Doctor to “fix” them. All of a sudden images started disappearing (because the 301 redirects it was setting up were clashing with the images) and traffic started to take a nose dive. I tried deleting the redirects from the database but in the end I took a deep breath and had to do a clean install of WP and reimport all of my content.

I might test it out again on a niche site just to see if I was unlucky – but since I tested it on two sites I’m not sure.

    Hey Rachel,
Great info as usual. I purchased some of these plugins and only dabbled. Need to hunker down and get stuck into installing them properly on all my sites.

That’s very cool… thanks for the results as well as review. I’ve niche sites that does close to $100 per month with about 100 visitors so a small changes to traffic across several can make a good difference.

    Cheers!

  • Sophie – DigiResults

    Hey there,

Sophie here – thanks for all your comments and interest.
Thought I would jump in to answer some of your questions even though Rachel is doing a great job here :)

@ Morgan Madej – those are two very good questions. They are all complementary to each other working in a slightly different way. To make it clearer I will write a separate post explaining briefly how each one works.

@Clare – I’m sorry you had trouble with Digi Link Doctor. It definitely should not work that way. We have very good support, who answer queries within 24 hours. If you have not contacted them yet, here is their email address: support@digilinkdoctor.com. If you have already but did not get a response, please post your ticket number and I’ll make sure it gets expedited.

@ Jason, Jack, Alfred, Avani, Kelly, Jenelle and Alans – Thanks – some great traffic should come your way very soon! ;)

Following my previous post and to answer Morgan:

WPSyndicator – Will syndicate your post to the main web 2.0 sites (Twitter, WordPress, Blogger, Identica, etc…around 15 in all) -> High authority high PR websites -> great value back links

Digi Article Blaster (currently in WSO) – Will automatically blast your post to over 150 directories with a single click! It is a great complementary product to WPS. Both used together will boost your link juice exponentially

Digi Link Doctor – This plugin ensures that all your effort in increasing your traffic and improving your SEO with good quality backlinks are not ruined by broken links. It watches for visitors hitting URLs that 404 and then corrects them on the fly -> no more wasted back links!

Digi Traffic Mulitplier – It will automatically create targeted content using yahoo answers API. The content will use keywords your traffic used to search your site -> highly targeted content everyday with the push of a button.

Hope that makes it a bit more clear :) Any questions, let me know!

    @Morgan – Thank you! :)

I am honestly not sure how these plugins are even used. That’s the beauty of them :) I did no thinking… I just had my tech guy put them in and magic happened!

I just found out about Digi Article Blaster, I was thinking of grabbing a copy and doing a case study. Would you be interested in that?

@Clare – Yikes!! Hopefully Sophie can clear that up, thank you for the heads up!

@Jenelle – :) Go for it, and thank you for taking the time to post a comment!

@Alan – WOW, $1 per visitor, definitely more traffic would be great!!!

    Hi Rachel,

Thanks for the swift pre’cis on those wp plugins. You are certainly on the ball!
Yes Please-A case study of DAB would be great way to get me off the fence.

I must say this is a dynamic website-don’t forget to put your “affiliate link” in the case study!

Does any discount available if I were to purchase all 3 plugins?

    [Reply]

  • http://www.MyMoneyMakingWebsite.com Greg

@ Wani, I too suggested they offer a “Digi Suite” discount for a bundle, but so far haven’t heard anything. It would also be great if there was an integration between Digi Traffic Multiplier & WP Syndicator and/or Digi Article Blaster such that keyword-targeted posts pulled from Digi Traffic Multiplier would be automatically syndicated on article directory sites (with Digi Article Blaster) and/or web 2.0 sites (with WP Syndicator). That way, you wouldn’t even have to log-in and yet your site would continue to grow.
