How To Instantly Increase Traffic To Your Site

by Rachel Rofe

Are you looking for the perfect strategy to boost traffic flow to your blog, website, squeeze page, affiliate site, or other type of webpage?

Or do you want to boost traffic when you’re launching a new product or service?

Either way, I have the “secret” for you.

This “secret” is the thing that got me on Entrepreneur, Fox News, and a ton of other places that picked my article up for syndication.

What I’m talking about is…. guest blogging.

Before you start to object, please realize that you don’t need to be a regular blogger to succeed. I’ve tried this method several times over and it works every time. As soon as my blog post is submitted and readers explore the information, traffic nearly doubles to my site.

I am going to teach you the secret to guest blogging that will drive a new audience to your site instantly. Once you learn these tricks, you can begin submitting guest blog posts to all of your favorite blogs within your niche.

Why Guest Blogging Works:

Before you bemoan the idea of blogging for someone else, read why guest blogging works to drive traffic to your site:

  • You receive highly targeted and responsive visitors
  • When you are trying to sell something, your sales increase drastically
  • You receive the highest quality inbound links available
  • You climb the search engine ranks
  • Your readership and subscription numbers sky rocket

I have been around the blogging world for quite some time and can tell you it’s hard publishing quality content on a consistent basis. As a new Internet marketer, you are eager to get your feet wet and get as much content out there as possible.

That is why this marriage works so well. Established bloggers need a break from content publication, and you need to get the word out about your new (fill in the blank) site.

Why Not The Other Options:

So, you’ve read the “rule book” on Internet marketing. You know that you are supposed to practice good SEO. You are supposed to build a social media profile. Don’t forget about Pay-Per-Click advertising.

Then there is list building, link exchange, traffic exchange… You catch my drift. All of this stuff takes tons of time and effort. If you guest blog for someone who is well known and highly touted in your industry, then you kill several birds with one stone.

Guest blogging isn’t just about creating traffic. It’s about putting your content in front of responsive readers who will give you the time of day. They will listen to what you have to say, visit your site, and likely buy what you are selling. They are TARGETTED.

Why Response Is Quick:

If you do all of the other recommended options to build traffic, good for you. However, how quickly are visitors going to respond?

Not as quickly as you would like them to. Guest blogging provides you with instant response. Readers enjoy your post, and then promptly comment on it. After they leave a comment, they are likely to click on the link provided in your signature.

The best part about guest blogging is it is a replenishable resource. Anytime you make site changes, launch a new product, or need to increase your traffic, the option is just one email away.

All you have to do is send out an email that looks something like this:

Dear Name Of Blog Owner,

I’ve been noticing your site for a while and it’s absolutely GREAT! I really love (insert compliment here – show people this isn’t a form letter).

I was wondering if you’d love some more content for your blog… for free, of course?

I’d be happy to write up a post for your blog readers. The post would be all about YOUR NICHE. Specifically, I could write about IDEA #1, IDEA #2, or IDEA #3 – whatever you think works the best.

Of course you would proof it before you put it up, and I would make sure that the readers of your blog really love it.

Let me know – I think this could be really fun!

Sincerely,

Name Here

P.S. There is no catch. :) I’m just passionate about YOUR NICHE HERE. The only thing I ask is for credit for writing the article and a link back to my site. I hope you find that fair.

You can modify that to suit your personality, but I’ve been using variations of that for years and it always works like a charm.

Why You Have Control:

Guest blogging gives you the chance to get top rankings in search engines. The way this happens is through “quality” inbound links. Links are valued in several areas including through the keywords you use as anchor text, link placement, ect.

When you write on someone else’s blog, you have complete control over where you anchor text, as well as the relevance and location of keywords. This is when you write a highly relevant blog post for a blog related specifically to the keywords you are targeting, and then anchor those keywords within the text of your blog post. These anchor text should link right back to pages on your site that offer more relevant information.

Links within the content carry more weight in the ranking system then if you were to put them in the footer of your post. So, you can add a link in your author bio, but make sure to add anchor text within your post.

Guest blogging is a refreshingly simple way to drive traffic to your site. It takes less effort than putting together an entire SEO campaign, and offers you chance to establish yourself as an authority.

So, what are you waiting for? Find your favorite blogs and get the word out about your own site. Your fellow bloggers will thank you and this will lead to a great relationship in the future.

Great post Rachel… I’ll have to try this strategy and test the results. I’ve stayed away from this in the past as the effort to reward ratio seemed high.

    I’ll let you know how I go…

    Cheers

haha – it helps sometimes if you have a few articles in ‘queue’. I’ve sent the same article to multiple blogs sometimes, OR taken a base article and rewrote it a bit for each person. That made things much easier and I still got all the guest blogging benefits. Maybe that’d help you?

I’m looking forward to what happens for you! :)

Though I am a complete newbie in the field of Internet Marketing, your blog posts always seem PRACTICAL and DOABLY PROFITABLE. Both you and Dennis are doing a great job, Rachel.

I have one question though. Being a newbie, I was wondering if signing up with e1kad as a member would help me in any way. I mean I have heard rave reviews about your website and the high level of cooperation there but nearly all of them are established members. Just wanted to know what’s in it for novices like me?

First of all, thank you so much!! I really appreciate the feedback. :)

As far as E1KAD, I think it might actually help newbies even more than advanced people. There are 12 different business models and help for every single one. As you have questions, you can ask and people will help.

    There’s a $2.95 trial – I definitely recommend trying it out, I think you’d get a lot out of it :)

    Hey Rachel!

Do you find that you need to spend time commenting on their blog posts for a while before you approach them to write a guest post? In other words, are you already seen as a friend or regular reader?

    Thanks,
    Jason Ayers
P.S. Your shift towards creating more content in 2011 is great!

First of all, I’m so glad you commented! I was so touched by the Facebook message you left (when adding me as a friend) and I totally forgot to thank you. So, thank you… very much. :)

I don’t spend time commenting on blog posts first – I just ask. When I got on Entrepreneur, I had absolutely ZERO relationship with them.

That being said, if they say no at first, then maybe commenting and proving yourself would work… it’s a great idea!
