We all get stuck occasionally, regardless of how successful we
currently are in our IM business. Rarely is there clear sailing
from your first $5/day income stream to your 50th to your 1000th.
Along the way there are speed bumps and setbacks, and it can be
more than a little frustrating, especially when you see other
people not nearly as talented as you moving forward with no
apparent problem (that might not be the case behind the scenes, but
it’s still frustrating).
One of our most talented and popular members was in that situation
this week, and she posted a thread (which I’ll link to later in
this email) about quitting the business entirely and going back to
her job.
As upsetting as that thread might sound, what really grabbed me
personally were the responses from others that felt the exact same
way.
Whatever you want to call it: plateau, glass ceiling, stuck in
neutral, etc., it’s frustrating.
And so many people quit especially when it happens at the very
beginning of their IM endeavors. Those who’ve enjoyed success and
see the possibilities usually stick it out, and eventually break
through the glass ceiling for a while, until they reach another
ceiling.
That thread got the attention of many regular forum visitors, and
one of those people contacted me with an idea. That person was
Sabrina Hinds (user name Eureka!, a long time member, actually
Earn1KaDay opened up on May 18, 2007 and she joined on May 19th, so
she’s a definite veteran here).
Sabrina suggested a new forum section, which she called “Biz
Breakthrough Brainstorm”, and after discussing it for a while in

and if you’re willing to provide information about where you’re at,

frustrated start really crushing it? I can hardly wait.
If you’re stuck, read the sticky in that section and post your
thread, and let’s see what we can do for you. And be willing to
help others along the way, paying it forward will reap you huge
dividends in the future, I’m sure.

I’m sort of proud of that, actually, I don’t think I’ve belonged to
a paid forum that reached that level. I’m sure there are some, but
none the less, it’s a testament to all the great members we have
here that you’re willing to fill the site with great information.
The million post milestone will be a stretch to obtain, but let’s
start working on it anyway, OK? 
Earn1KaDay has grown up quite a bit since the first post, and it
will continue to expand, as we add new features like the Biz
Breakthrough section. I hope you can stick around to see those
changes, and even suggest some as you see ways that I can provide
more value.

Someone found this thread which was posted almost 3 years ago by
Matt Rhodes, and suggested it be put in the Top Forum Threads
section (which I did):

The reason I bring up an old thread is that there is buried gold
scattered all over the forum. There have been hundreds of current
members that joined after that thread died out, and never saw it
because it was way down the list of pages in that sub forum.
Can you imagine how much wisdom has never been seen by most of the
members, out of over 100,000 posts? It boggles the mind.
I wonder if I could convince somebody, or better yet a bunch of
somebodies, to go through all the old threads and report back as to
which ones maybe should be promoted to Top Forum Thread status.
That would be quite a project for one person, to be sure. Looking
at General Discussions, there are 71 pages of threads, with 50 per
page. Other sub forums have multiple pages also, but GD has the
most.
Many of the threads are just ordinary or outdated information, of
course, but there are probably quite a few that will yield good
ideas.
What if 100 or 150 people volunteered to each just pick one page of
threads (50 threads) from the past and spend a couple hours
analyzing them to see what needs to be resurrected? Who’s up to
take on, or even to coordinate a project like that?
If someone would, and we could build up significantly more content
in the Top Forum Threads section, I would consider transferring
them into a PDF that could be printed out, or at least easily read
by everyone, and available for a quick start guide to new members.
Remember, most of the old threads have either never been read by
the majority of members, and the rest of us have forgotten what
they said anyway.
