Colorado news, new Action Enforcer, RAP Bank, oh so much more!

by 5buckguy

How has your week been? I know for some of our friends in Colorado,
it hasn’t been quite so pleasant, for reasons I’ll mention more
below, but each week brings not only challenges but opportunities,
especially when our businesses are worldwide, and can be started,
changed, and stopped at the press of a button.

Unfortunately external “button pushers” can also affect us, as is
the case of Google algorithm changes, slaps, account terminations,
and assorted other situations. That’s why we need to continue to
learn, adapt, and above all diversify our income streams, as I’ve
talked about so many times.

As a member of Earn1KaDay, you obviously have a wealth of knowledge
available to you to adapt in many ways, and I’ll continue to add to
that virtual library week after week.

For example …

Here are this week’s new downloads:

Fast and Easy Video Squeeze Pages:

I’m excited beyond words now. I made my flight arrangements for Las
Vegas this week, and I’m ready to go. The speakers are working on
their presentations, and I expect thousands of dollars worth of
value from the speakers alone, not to mention the networking and JV
opportunities that will take place during breaks, lunches, dinners,
and at the bar.

The sales page is done, and can be accessed here:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/e1kad-seminar-2010.html

This week I added a 3-pay option if that makes it easier for you to
budget this, or you’ll save a little by paying in full.

If you have any doubt about going, watch some of the video
testimonials that we collected last year, posted towards the bottom
of the page.

Yes, there should be a DVD set available again, but some of what
happens in Vegas will stay in Vegas, uncaptured by the cameras,
especially if John Rhodes gets going at the bar again this year. :-)

It isn’t too late to get into Jason Fladlien’s Copywriting class,
even if you forgot or ignored or weren’t convinced that the
original offer was timely for you. Class starts March 17th, the
webinars are all being recorded if the time isn’t good for where
you live, and there are great bonuses, including a sales page
critique from Jason that’s probably worth the entire cost alone:

Forum threads of note:

The big news of the week was Amazon’s unfair and apparently
unnecessarily harsh treatment of their Colorado affiliates, because
of new legislation enacted in that state. You can join in the
discussion or catch up on the news here:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10350

Unfortunately this isn’t the first state government to cause
disruption, it started (I think) in New York, and it’s spreading.
So if you haven’t been affected yet, keep your ears open in your
state. Residents outside the U.S. are somewhat used to
discriminatory treatment, for example, most of the Amazon features
such as the ability to use Mechanical Turk have always been closed
to them anyway. PayPal shuts out some countries. Europe has the VAT
tax.

So the bottom line is, things change. If you haven’t been affected
yet, count your blessings and diversify.

Rosana’s moving back to Colorado soon, and is caught in the middle
of this whole mess, but she’s not sitting back hoping for the state
to say “sorry” and rescind the regulations, she’s found some
workarounds:

I’m excited about a new version of Action Enforcer that went live
yesterday, it’s an online version that will allow full access to
those who couldn’t take advantage previously, such as Mac, Linux,
and netbook users.

It could have some other exciting applications as well. I’m looking
for marketing ideas, if you want to give me suggestions, I’m all
ears:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10386

And for now, feel free to use the online version if you find it
useful.

I was looking for a database recommendation last week, and as is
usually the case, the community came through for me, as they have
so many times for myself and others in the past:

So remember, if you’re looking for marketing or technical advice,
feel free to ask here.

Gene’s got a new domain finding tool that’s absolutely awesome, to
help you find expired domains matching your keywords:

Lynne was wondering about forced optin or not, or other
alternatives:

Doug started a thread “Are mini money sites dying”, but actually
the question was larger in scope than that, and elicited quite a
bit of hopefully helpful advice:

I guess it just wasn’t his week, as he was affected not only by the
Amazon firing of Colorado affiliates, plus this:

Brighter days are coming, Doug, I guarantee it.

Success alert: Edwin made $2K in 24 hours:

Remember last year when he was down in the dumps over financial
problems, he’s sure roared back, hasn’t he? He also posted a nice
special offer for us in the Special Offers by Authors section this
week.

I never thought of this before, what do you think about renting out
your Twitter lists:

Speaking of the seminar, now that the sales page is finished (as
far as it can be at this point, it will be tweaked as the final
agenda gets pulled together), if you’d like to promote it as an
affiliate, here’s information:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10367

Which reminds me of something that’s relatively new, and extremely
exciting for affiliates, and that’s RAP Bank. RAP is Rapid Action
Profits, which I use for several of my products, including the 2010
seminar. RAP pays affiliates immediately directly to their PayPal
account on a percentage of sales, so no waiting for the merchant to
get around to sending the money.

Instant commissions are sweet, aren’t they!

Now RAP Bank is sort of like the Clickbank Marketplace, but for RAP
products. Merchants who use RAP can list their products there, and
any affiliates can find them and promote them. RAP Bank is here:
http://e1kad.com/rapbank

So, I listed a few of my RAP products the other day, not expecting
much out of it, but guess what? Two different products made 2 sales
each through RAP Bank, and I’ve seen a ton of tweets, including by
Willie Crawford, promoting the seminar sales page (no sales yet on
that though from RAP).

Whether you’re a product owner or an affiliate, RAP Bank is
certainly worth investigating. There’s no cost to join as an
affiliate, and no cost to join and list one of your domains as a
product seller:
http://e1kad.com/rapbank

You can even list resell rights and PLR products there if you sell
them with RAP, I just saw WordPress Website Secrets on the front
page today, which you have in the new downloads. I think you would
want to be the first to market with a resell rights product though.

I remember way back when I sold resell rights to 5 Bucks a Day, Jr.
originally. Back then Jon Leger had a similar site for any 7 Dollar
Secrets products (which was the predecessor of RAP). One of the
buyer of my rights listed my book there, and made a killing. 5
Bucks a Day, Jr. was on the bestseller list, even #1 for a while,
for several weeks, and I know it sold hundreds of copies for that
person.

But I digress, let’s get back on topic… :-)

Is the PC yesterday’s news? I read in the paper today that it won’t
be long before web capable phones will outnumber PC’s, they’re
closing in on a billion units already.

Judy started a discusson about the trend. How would you cope with
it?:

##########

If you don’t want to go full throttle into selling offline
services, maybe you should consider doing it as a side job in
exchange for something you need (bartering). It could be a win-win
all around:

##########

Tim started a big debate about the value of a name on an email list
if they “apparently” don’t open your emails. I think we convinced
him not to toss them out:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10330

Bottom line is, you can’t really tell what the open rate is if you
just go by Aweber stats.

Reminder: If you’re new to Earn1KaDay, or didn’t remember this, all
the weekly emails, from the beginning of time, are archived on the
blog here:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/wp/

If you ever miss an email, or want to check the archives, you can
always go there and do a search.

Another reminder: I get asked (a lot) about the affiliate program
to Earn1KaDay. A thread was set up long ago with details, here:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=417

##########

That’s just a short review of some of the highlights, there is much
more going on all the time at the forum. Don’t be a stranger
there, that’s where the primary value of your membership is, after
all. We’re not there to chat so much (though there is a lounge
there if you want to unwind), we’re there to learn from each other,
and share with each other, and as you can see from the above sample
threads, there’s a lot of that happening.

##############################################

Until next week, I wish you the very best in everything.

Dennis, the 5 Bucks a Day Guy.
