Well, hello. Is it Friday already again? This week has raced by
so fast I lost track of the days. Yesterday we had the webinar
with Tamara Riddle, did you get a chance to log in? If not, the
recording will be available soon.
Next week, I’m travelling to the Warrior Forum seminar in Raleigh,
North Carolina. I’ll be flying on Friday, so I probably will need
to send the email either on Thursday, or wait until I check into
the hotel Friday afternoon. If you’ll be in Raleigh also, look me
up.

Here are this week’s new downloads:

Bundle Software Pack:

13 different software products (I haven’t reviewed them at all),
the last software bundle I got, I know there were at least one or
two people that were able to make some good money on them. If
that’s not yoru style, at least I hope one or more will be useful.

A little light this week, due to the fact that I’m having a problem
with my cable service. I’m unable to upload large files reliably.
I’ve been having that problem for a while, but it’s getting much
worse. The serviceman is supposedly coming to look at it this
afternoon, so I’ll catch up next week.

I added a new feature to the site this week. In order to make it
easier to find downloads on a particular business model or major
subject, I went through and tagged them all. So for example, now
you can search for all downloads about article marketing, offline
marketing, flipping, etc.
Full details are here:

Speaking of “features”, I felt that I had to bite the bullet and
create a new forum section:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9033
I was getting way too many complaints about political discussions
in the main business areas. Many didn’t want to waste time reading
opinions that didn’t affect them, while searching for information
that did.
This has actually put me in a “no win” situation. I had plenty of
complaints about the political bantering in serious threads, the
majority didn’t want to have to filter through those posts, and it
actually changed their frame of mind from a positive mindset to a
negative one, which isn’t good.
People who come to Earn1KaDay to focus on a particular business
model, and to increase their knowledge and with that their income
hopefully realize that they can let me know if anything is
preventing that from happening. When I can make an adjustment that
doesn’t adversely affect overall forum usability, I’ll do that.
Since I made the change, a much smaller number have been upset
because I’m stifling free discussion, and burying healthy views
“under a rock”. One member has already told me it was causing him
to rethink his membership. If the inability to voice political
views in an Internet marketing forum means the site is less
valuable to meet his IM goals, well, I just don’t understand that
at all.
I thought I did what was reasonable, and in the best interests of
the entire community. Those who don’t want to partake of the
discussions can just avoid that section of the forum, those that do
have pretty much free rein, within reason (no slander, racism,
religious suppression, etc. that are covered in the rules of the
forum).
What wouldn’t have been reasonable, though it was suggested by a
few, would have been to ban political discussion completely.
Though we do attempt to cater to Internet marketing topics,
sometimes there are issues that affect our lives and our income,
where government plays a part, such as this weeks FTC guidelines,
mentioned below.
And just to reiterate, I’m not in any way burying the topic under a
rock, any more than separating offline marketing discussions from
MMS discussions is.
Rant off.

Forum threads of note:

Maybe hyphens in domain names aren’t so bad (if you have no other

reluctant to ask. Those who have answers, or follow up questions,
please participate, this could become a good discussion.

And of course the big issue of the week didn’t go unnoticed inside
our forum, that being the new FTC guidelines:

Especially distressing for me, and I’m not alone, is the targeting
of testimonials from people that do well with a product. What do
you think? I’m starting to see all sorts of new disclaimers on
sites lately, what’s the best one you’ve seen?

That’s just a short review of some of the highlights, there is much
more going on all the time at the forum. Don’t be a stranger
there, that’s where the primary value of your membership is, after
all. We’re not there to chat so much (though there is a lounge
there if you want to unwind), we’re there to learn from each other,
and share with each other, and as you can see from the above sample
threads, there’s a lot of that happening.

Until next week, I wish you the very best in everything.
