If you’re in the U.S., I hope you enjoy your long weekend (Labor
Day is Monday, for those outside the U.S.). Labor Day is the day
set aside so that laborers and government workers don’t have to,
uh, work. Instead they get to go to the malls and make those
people work extra hard.
Or around here, if they don’t feel like shopping, they drive hours
in bumper to bumper traffic to the shore for one last daycation,
and arrive home more stressed out than they started.
What are you doing on Monday? I’ll be doing my regular Sunday
routine, I suppose, sleeping in a little, a little time on the
computer, then a little nap, then turn on a ballgame and sleep
through it, and then if I’m not too tired, I’m sure my wife will
come up with something for me to do around the house.

I’d say we have something this week for just about everybody, I
hope.
By the way, a question was asked in the forum. Specifically it was
about the Site Flipping Blueprints, but it could be about anything.
The question was whether the person should take the time to watch
the 13 videos, since he was using Action Enforcer and didn’t want
to lose focus by being distracted by a “new shiny object”.
My advice was that if he thought he might be interested in site
flipping, he should make an Action Enforcer timer for 15 minutes
each day for a week. Then each day he could watch one video in the
series (they’re all shorter than 15 minutes, I’m pretty sure).
Then by the end of the week, he’d be half way through the course
and he’d know by then if he wanted to watch the rest. And he
probably wouldn’t have ruined his regular daily schedule by giving
up just 15 minutes or less a day.
I think that’s a much better idea than watching over 2 hours of
videos in one big clump, and another way that I think Action
Enforcer will make you get more done. Like me, I’m behind in my
reading big time, but I think I’ll start scheduling one or two
15-minute “read a chapter” timers every day and get caught up
before I know it.

Earlier in the week, I sent out a special email about James Jones
video case study about how he made over $41K from a $97 investment
in a quality PLR course. If you missed it, I recommend you watch
(and sign up for follow up case studies):
http://www.plrcasestudies.com/
The reason I mentioned it, and what I’m about to mention, is that
some of the business models inside Earn1KaDay have taken on an aura
of “old school, out of date, not for me”. I think the reality is
far from the truth, and you would be shocked at the success some
people are having with the older methods.
Like StevenR said he had a 10K day from flipping a few sites. And
then James came back and said he had a 140K day from flipping sites
as well. OK, maybe the 10K day didn’t get the attention of a lot
of people, because they attributed it to being “lucky” or something
(that isn’t my feeling, but I’m sure some did).
But what about the 140K in a day example? To many, that’s like
hitting the lottery, isn’t it? Certainly a good annual income for
most people.
So that’s why I picked up the relatively expensive resell rights
for the site flipping course that’s one of this week’s downloads,
and that’s why I recommended James’ site. Just for the record,
that’s not an affiliate link, I just thought you would enjoy the
concepts he talks about. Again:
http://www.plrcasestudies.com
There was a time when I didn’t do well with PLR and resell rights
products at all. Now I do. One way is by stocking up the members
area here. The original purpose of Earn1KaDay was never about
“stuff”, but still, I’ve been told that many of our 600+ members
stay here month after month because of that stuff, rather than the
forum or the networking or the unique content. Each to their own
preference, after all.
After all, the information contained in the stuff is valuable to
many, and will save you a lot of money from having to purchase it
yourself. Some day soon, I want to calculate what I’ve spent on
products for the forum. Maybe I don’t want to know, but it will
be interesting. There’s well over 300 products in the archives now,
and that doesn’t include the special ones for veteran members who
have been here 4 months or more.
So, beyond the extra income from who knows how many members that stay
here for the stuff, there are the sales from the dime sale site and
other methods, mostly from PLR material.
Plus I can say, without a doubt, there are things that I could do
with PLR that I’m not currently doing that would double, triple, or
more, the income I get from it.
Just something to think about over the long weekend. That video
from James Jones might open your eyes to the possibilities even
more so.

Forum threads of note:
Speaking of site flipping, Travis is wondering why his $20K site
isn’t selling. What do you think?:

Did you know you now have to pay to belong to the Warrior Forum now
if you want to do certain things, like run a WSO?:

Gary’s looking for Camtasia tips, and the conversation has come
down to audio quality more than anything. Kevin Rockwell mentioned
this in his webinar before, that people will put up with poor video
quality to an extent, but not to poor audio quality. Good advice
in this thread:

Speaking of old business models, the MMS business model was what
attracted many of the first batch of Earn1KaDay members, and some
have done very well. It’s been a challenge the last few months
though, and before that there were different types of challenges
like Google slaps and ePN terminations.
Now ePN has changed the way the affiliate compensation is figured
almost 180 degrees back to where it began, sort of. Because of
that some people are thinking the train has left the station to
promote eBay. I disagree, big time, and this discussion about
click pricing might be something you want to contribute to and
watch in coming weeks:

A good transcriber is hard to find, and can be very useful. Do you
need one? I’ve been using one since March and finally that big
project (transcribing all the Daily Seminar videos) is done and the
person I used is available:
http://earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8716
Don’t monopolize her, though, I’ll be needing her again in the
future to transcribe webinars, interviews, and PLR videos.
Speaking of PLR, which we were earlier, one way to succeed with PLR
is to turn it into a better or different product. Most people who
purchase PLR products just slap it up right out of the box. Me
too. But those who do the best would take a couple hours and
improve on it. Change the sales page. Add a squeeze page maybe.
Write up some autoresponder messages. And made a new modality for
the product. If it’s a video or audio product, get it transcribed,
as there’s a very high percentage of the market that doesn’t have
the patience to watch videos. Or if it’s an eBook, turn it into a
video product or a podcast, as there’s a high percentage of the
market that doesn’t like to read.
Improve, not copy. Transcribing is something I would never want to
do myself, not even for my own interviews.

It’s always my pleasure to announce the Earn1KaDay member of the
month. This month it’s someone from the other side of the world
from me, so he might be asleep at the time this email goes out. In
any event, here’s where you can find out who was selected for
August 2009:

That’s just a short review of some of the highlights, there is much
more going on all the time at the forum. Don’t be a stranger
there, that’s where the primary value of your membership is, after
all. We’re not there to chat so much (though there is a lounge
there if you want to unwind), we’re there to learn from each other,
and share with each other, and as you can see from the above sample
threads, there’s a lot of that happening.
