Quite a while ago, when I decided to give longer term members a
special benefit, I had an application written that enables you to
search a database of all the products in our download section. I
gave access to that application to veteran members only (those that
have been here 4 months or longer).
Veterans also get on a special email list where some special
premium packages are drip fed by the email list, about every 4
weeks or so. Some of those are because of licensing restrictions,
because for example they say they can only be a bonus with a
product that costs $97 or more, so by the time a member is a
veteran, they’ve spent more than $97. Of course I clear it with
the product author to make sure they’re OK with that.
This week the number of products in the download passed the 300
mark, so I’ve been thinking, there is way too much in the there
anymore to easily go through, and there are some real gems buried
on page 2, 3, 4, etc. that newer members probably have never
noticed.
So as of today, I’m opening up the searchable index to everyone,

If you’re looking for downloads on a particular topic, you can just
do a search using this application for something like Twitter,
templates, graphics, or whatever you want, and quick like a bunny
you’ll have a short list that meets your requirements.

Good timing, I’ve been thinking about this subject a lot lately,
and quietly accumulating as much copywriting material as I can
find. Much of it doesn’t come with resell rights, but you’ll
notice I put some things up this week, and I’m looking for more. You
can never learn too much about copywriting (which includes email
copy).

Just a couple weeks after Jonathan Leger launched TipDrop, now he
has a new search engine (SearchWinds) powered by Bing and user
submissions. It uses the same credibility idea as TipDrop, so the
higher your credibility the higher your submitted sites will rank,
is how I understand it:

The cool thing is, since most queries to SearchWinds won’t have had
a user submitted result, Bing will be used to fill those pages.
Plus, Jon’s going to have PPC soon, and you’ll get free PPC credits
every month based on your credibility.
You can’t say that Jon has a problem taking action, can you? First
he takes on Twitter and now Google. Whew.

No, I haven’t forgotten about this project, we’re working on it,
really. There weren’t nearly enough topic requests as I wanted, so
I went ahead and compiled a list of potentially lucrative niches by
going through my local Yellow Pages, and jotting down categories
that have advertisers paying for large display ads. I figured if
they’re willing to pay that much, probably $1000 a month or so,
someone wanting to sell to people in that local area would think
renting an SEO optimized site with good rankings would be a good
idea.
Next step, Gregg is working on building keyword lists from that
list, and I’ll probably go to the freelancer site next week to try
to find a content writer, I’ll probably start with just one, and
then build up from there is this works out.

That’s just a short review of some of the highlights, there is much
more going on all the time at the forum. Don’t be a stranger
there, that’s where the primary value of your membership is, after
all. We’re not there to chat so much (though there is a lounge
there if you want to unwind), we’re there to learn from each other,
and share with each other, and as you can see from the above sample
threads, there’s a lot of that happening.
