Here we are at the end of the typical work week again. Typical for
those with a regular 9 to 5, 5 day a week, j.o.b., that is, but
Internet marketers don’t run with that crowd, do we?
Do you consider your IM endeavors to be just another job you have
to do to put food on the table? Or is it a challenge that you look
forward to every day, 7 days a week usually? That’s my outlook on
it, personally, I can’t imagine retiring from this.
Though it’s nice to get away for a little while now and then, and
once things get set up, that’s entirely possible, letting our
income streams run on autopilot, still earning us money while we go
to the movies, sleep late, go to the beach, or just chill out with
the family.
What a great life, if you haven’t reached that level yet, think
positively, you’ll get there if you follow a proven system. I hope
you’re seeing that it’s not only possible, it’s common.

Just a reminder, the Webinar Best Practices webinar that Wil Mattos
and I are doing is coming up tomorrow (assuming you read this email
when it was sent). We’ve collaborated on the mind map and it’s
shaping up to be something special, if you have any idea about
doing webinars as a form of product creation, which I think you
should consider at some point.
Wil thinks we can pretty much teach you why and how to do webinars
in one 90-minute session, and still take questions, I think we
might need to follow up afterwards, but regardless, tomorrow’s
event is something I hope you tune in to.

I want to give you an example of the power of gaining the
confidence to run a webinar, or even just shoot a Camtasia video
with a mind map, which is pretty much the same skill set, just
without an audience, so here’s a story about how I saved $600 this
week, and at the same time came up with a product idea.
I saw a WSO where a Warrior was selling his ghostwriting services.
The sales page was really well done, and made me confident that he
could do a good job. he was charging $10 a page.
So I came up with a topic that I wanted an eBook written about, and
asked him if he felt comfortable to do the subject. He said yes,
and asked me to let him know more specifically about what I wanted
him to cover, and he’d get started. I figured it would be a good
50 to 60 page eBook, maybe a little more, so I figured $600 for the
budget.
In order to give him a good outline, I decided to do a quick mind
map (which is my preferred method on a webinar, I learned how to do
them when I learned how to do webinars). As I was outlining the
topic, I said to myself that I wanted to make sure that the writer
would cover the details of my knowledge of the subject, so I made
the mind map pretty extensive.
Then as I was doing that, I said to myself, what I should do is do
a quick Camtasia video and go through the mind map nodes, one by
one, and then send that to the writer, so that he would be able to
put in what I already knew into the finished product.
And then I stopped short. What the heck. If I already have the
mind map, and if I shoot the video, at that point the product is
easily 80% done. All I’d have to do is add a little more detail to
the video, get it transcribed, and it’s a product.
Or instead of shooting the video, run a webinar instead, which
would inject fresh questions into the product. Either way, I’ve
just basically saved $600, and probably will have a better product,
a video product plus transcript, instead of just a PDF. And yes,
it will take me a little longer to add the detail that the writer
could research for me, but if he wrote the book, I’d have to
probably do a heavy edit to it when it came back anyway, adding
things he left out. And I know he’d be writing not from
experience, but rather from research.
Point is, having the skill to run a webinar, which ties into the
skill to shoot a video either with Camtasia or with a Flip
camcorder (or other brand), will enable you to create products
relatively quickly and easily.
My newly developed webinar skils, and my background in a specific
topic, make me confident that this new product could easily outsell
5 Bucks a Day, and that puppy has sold over 5000 copies, starting
with an email list of zero and some forum friends.
Maybe you could do the same, once you develop your webinar skills.

I’m getting (slowly) closer to pulling the trigger on this project,
but really don’t see as much committed interest as I had hoped. By
committed interest, I mean people that supply keyword lists for
offline business niches, for example chiropractors, orthodontists,
beauty salons, all the hundreds of different businesses that can
benefit from a web site, and from top search engine rankings for a
localized keyword phrase (for example Bergenfield orthodontist,
Bergenfield child orthodontist, orthodontist in Bergenfield,
Bergenfield emergency orthodontist).
I was looking for people that were interested in the service to
post a niche, and 8 to 12 keyword phrases. I would then hire a
writer to write generic articles, and you could plug in your city
name into the articles, buy a domain name, set up WordPress, add the
articles as pages on your blog, get good SEO rankings, and then
rent out the site for $150 a month or so (or sell it for 2K or so),
once you could demonstrate the rankings.
A lot of people seemed interested, but I’m looking for what I called
committed interest. No offense, but I’m wondering if very few
people are willing to spend 5 minutes to suggest a niche and do a
little research to find 8 to 12 keyword phrases for that generic
local niche, how many would take the articles once they were
written and do something with them.
And if 50 members do one niche each, everyone would benefit from
only spending 15 minutes of “work” each.
I thought it would be a good service to offer members, but now I’m
wondering. I wanted to get at least 30 to 50 niches suggested,
with keyword lists supplied, before hiring a writer. Once that’s
done, I hope the project would feed on its own momentum.
