Last week I mentioned that some people were having problems getting
into the site. I think the problems have been resolved now, and it
was a combination of factors that caused our firewall, which Steve
had recently installed, to give what they call a “false positive”
on some. We’ve tweaked some things, including the firewall, and it
shouldn’t happen again unless you have login failures many times in
a short period of time. If that happens, just send me an email and
I’ll take care of it, but I don’t think there will be any problems.
This week I have some very good news, and some of our members have

I’ve mentioned Michael Gunn more than once recently, for good
reason. I hope you listened or read the interview that I mentioned
a couple weeks ago. I’ll mention him again later today, but first,

Another member has a special offer going. If you weren’t in the

This one technically isn’t a special offer, yet, but it will seem
like it. I’m on Marlon Sanders list, you should be too if you
aren’t, and a week or so ago he sent out an email blasting Jason
Fladlien. That got my attention.
The blast wasn’t anything negative about any of Jason’s products,
though, it was about the fact that Marlon had picked up one of
Jason’s products, loved it, wanted to promote it, and there was no
affiliate opportunity, like a Clickbank link. The payment button
went straight to PayPal.
Marlon doesn’t promote a lot of other people’s stuff, but when he
finds something he really likes, he promotes it with a vengeance.
Jason told me that Marlon found his phone number, called him, and
convinced him to list the product on Clickbank, and at the same
time raise the price. I understand that’s all going to happen once
Jason gets back from the Mass Control Seminar this weekend, or
shortly after.

pure gold. It’s a copywriting course, and has the hook of enabling
you to write near world class salesletters in 3 hours or less.
Knowing that world class copywriters will charge 5K to 10K to write
a letter for you, if you can do it yourself, don’t you think that

I know that the final piece of creating a product, writing the
sales copy, holds back so many people from launching their product.

Keep in mind that copywriting isn’t purely confined to long sales
letters, it can be email copy, writing affiliate product reviews,
anything where you’re trying to convince someone to do something
that will bring you income.
What’s in the course? A bunch of videos, of course, but for those
that prefer to read, like me, there’s a no-fluff 53 page manual,
and even a short video quick start guide to give you the basics in
under 20 minutes. Of course for the skills you want more help on,
there are more in-depth videos, as well as the manual.
I do recommend it highly, especially while it’s still only $17. I

Not yet a thread, but somebody should start one department.
OK, let’s get serious. It’s almost May, which means a third of the
year has gone by now. Have you made significant progress towards
your goals (promises) for 2009 yet? You should have.
Sure, you can make some money here and there writing articles and
putting up blogs with affiliate links, and building AdSense sites,
and all that, but those activities aren’t going to make your income
explode quickly and reliably, at least not if you build a site or
two and just tweak it endlessly. You can, though, as Steve
Goltiao, Gary Nave, James Schramko, and others have shown, start
mass producing and replicating successful strategies and
exponentially increase your income many times.
There are things you can do that can do that, you know? We talk
about them in the forum all the time. People demonstrate them
consistently as well, if you read what people have done to reach
their successes in that section of the forum.
For example, how did Michael get his first 1K day, finally? He
built MMS’s, but so did a lot of people. He tested, he tracked, he
tried different things. But so did a lot of people. But finally
he sat down and listened to somebody and decided to outline how he
does what he does, and he shot about an hour or so of videos of the
process. Bam. A successful product.
Jenn Dize has been ghostwriting for a year and a half and built up
a good business. So have some others. Jenn decided to show people
how to do what she’s doing, and I think she was partially inspired
by the Video Sales Tactics coaching program that I’ve recommended
the last 2 weeks. She took action, set up her own coaching course,
similar to Jason/Robert’s. Bam. A successful product.
Now I’m not saying everyone should run out now and make a video
series about MMS’s or ghostwriting, those have been done, but there
are things you know that other people don’t know. Don’t assume
they don’t.
People will pay to learn skills you have that they don’t have. It
doesn’t have to be an IM skill, in fact you’re better off if it
isn’t. With the ease of producing videos now (a Flip camcorder
costs less than $200 if you don’t have one already, Camtasia costs
$299 but you can use it for nothing for a full month), and with the
ease of setting up membership sites or webinars or downloadable
products, there’s no excuse not to have your own products.
If you’re into games, games are won by those accumulating the most
of something, typically. Points, runs, goals, toys, whatever. In
Internet marketing, the person with the most products will win, or
at least succeed.
Yes, you could do very well if you create a best seller that sells
a 10,000 copies. But me, I’d rather have a hundred products
selling 100 or 200 copies each, because the person who’s a one hit
wonder has his business built on quicksand. Someone who’s figured
out how to produce 100 products has a strategy that will continue
to work for a long, long time. Take away a few of those products,
and he or she still has a business.
Personally I don’t have 100 products yet, but that’s my goal, and
I’ve promised myself that by the end of 2010 I’ll have that many.
What can YOU do today to make your first product, if you haven’t
already? How about …
Interview an expert in your chosen niche. Use Skype and a recorder
like Pamela. Get it transcribed. Bam. A product. Do a few more.
Bam. Enough content for a start to a membership site. Then do
some more.
It doesn’t have to be difficult. I want you to have a 1K day, you
know. Let’s work together to get you there.

more going on all the time at the forum. Don’t be a stranger
there, that’s where the primary value of your membership is, after
all. We’re not there to chat so much (though there is a lounge
there if you want to unwind), we’re there to learn from each other,

threads, there’s a lot of that happening.
