It’s hard to believe, but unless there’s something unforeseen, this
will be the last regular email you receive from me this year. My,
how time flies when you’re having fun.
At this point, many people look back on the old year, and the old
lost opportunities, with regret, but I like to look forward with
anticipation and excitement. How about you?
If you’ve read some of my postings in the forum, one thing I like
to do lately is to not make goals for the future, but rather to
call them promises. I’m more likely to keep a promise than to
reach a goal, though if you want to set goals, be my guest, just
don’t write it down and forget it.
I read a post on John Reese’s blog the other day which I’m going to
pay more attention to in 2009. It’s the concept of “time units”.
John speaks of 30 minute time units, and allocating tasks to each
unit.
If you break down your day, allocate certain tasks to units such as
sleeping, eating, your daily job if you have one, commuting,
exercising, quality family time, etc., you’ll be able to see how
few units are left for your IM projects. So, instead of saying to
yourself I have 4 hours, plenty of time to do what’s necessary,
you’ll say “I have 8 units, how shall I allocate them?”. And
you’ll be less likely to waste a precious time unit on checking
emails, stats, surfing aimlessly with Stumbleupon, socializing on
Twitter, etc., until the allocated tasks are finished.
Otherwise, if you say to yourself, “I’ll just go see what my
friends are doing on Twitter and Facebook, check the threads at the
Warrior Forum, and then get started”, the 10 minutes you expect to
consume can turn into 2 hours, and by then you’ll be less productive.
John also talks about the “I’ll do this tomorrow” syndrome. It’s
essential that every day, in some way, you make progress towards
the project or the promise you’ve made. Otherwise, at this time
next year, you’ll be looking back at what could have been, and
wasn’t.
For some people, there will only be a few available time units per
day to make progress, so allocate them wisely. When you know what
you have to work with as far as time, and start to appreciate it
more, you’ll be less likely to check your Clickbank and CJ and
AdSense stats and email hourly, and more likely to keep focused on
the task at hand.
As for me, I like to promise publicly that, for Earn1KaDay members,
“you ain’t seen nothing yet”, and I like to think I delivered on
that promise in 2008, our first full year. I’m not done, I
promise. My goal for 2009 (this one is a goal rather than a
promise because I don’t have total control of the outcome) is for
each and every Earn1KaDay member to hit that 1K/day of profits at
least once in 2009, and hopefully many more times than that. I
hope you’ll promise to help me see that goal come true.

Here are this week’s new downloads:
Article Marketing Answers:
/notloggedin.php
This is just the first in a series of at least 12 monthly video
reports from Tim Gorman about the latest trends in article
marketing.
Royalty Free Music:

This will be added to frequently, first up is a batch of music that
you can use on your videos, I made a priority to upload these since
we’re starting the Video Challenge next week.

If one of your promises for 2009 is to expand your VRE, I’m going
to help you do that. Over the last few weeks I’ve been searching
out quality sites with PLR or resell rights, that include a
complete eBook, sales letter with graphics, etc.
The latest addition to the list is “Recession Advantage”:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6262
Again my criteria for selecting niche content sites are for good
quality content, a decent sales letter (which you can improve if
you like), and a niche subject that’s in demand for a large target
audience. Who isn’t thinking now about the recession, how it will
affect them, and what they can do to protect themselves from the
effects?
All you need to do is get in front of this huge audience with
your sales letter showing them this product at a very reasonable
price, and your return on investment will be huge. Right now the
price of this package is less than the cost of a pizza. Just sell
one copy and that cost will be recouped, but keep in mind that the
price will rise after each sale, since it’s being run by the dime
sale script:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6262
Here’s my recommendation for you. If you start stocking up on
niche content sites of general interest, either ones I find for
you, ones you put together yourself, or ones you find on your own,
and just make one sale per week from each, by the end of 2009, your
monthly passive income will be very nice.
And, if you don’t do this, 2009 will still end around 52 weeks from
now, but your income will be less than it could have been.
The preferred way to build up your VRE has always been to write
your own content, or to have it written for you, but if you figure
that having an eBook written by a quality writer would cost you as
much as $1000 or more, plus the cost of the sales letter, plus your
time to put the project together, doesn’t it become attractive to
pick up a prebuilt site occasionally?
Especially if it costs you less than the price of a pizza?
Additionally, once you do pick up rights to these niches,
especially for the ones that include private label rights, you can
easily rework the product to be unique and start selling a
completely original book of your own, on Clickbank or elsewhere.
Just be sure to make significant changes.
Besides the one offered above, I’ve found the Quick Start Job
Hunting Guide, which is in our members download area, so take
advantage of that one, and so far the most popular niche content
site has been “Go Green, Save Green” which is super hot and still
available here until it sells out:
http://www.1kad.com/go-green/
After I sell a significant number of copies of each site, I’ll stop
selling the resell rights and just concentrate on selling the books
themselves to the public, so grab them while they’re available, and
start getting traffic in front of your sales letter.
I’m looking for more niche content sites like this now, if you see
one let me know by sending me a PM or email, I’ll make it worth
your while. Or if you’re a writer and put one together, let me
know, I might be interested in purchasing resell rights at a
reasonable price that can make us both happy.

Earn1KaDay seminar update:
It’s coming down to the wire for the seminar. So far, honestly,
registrations have been disappointing. I know we have a
spectacular list of speakers, a great agenda, and especially with
the low number of attendees coming, an amazing opportunity to get
lots of quality networking time with some of the real movers and
shakers in the IM industry. Remember, this is not going to be a
pitchfest where the speakers are just touting their latest and
greatest products, the sessions are going to tell you what you need
to know in order to succeed.
You did promise yourself and your family that 2009 would be your
year, right?
Seats are still available:

Forum threads of note:
Because of the holidays, posting activity has been down this week,
and more tending to wish holiday wishes to others. At this time of
year, we often tend to focus more on family and friends than on
ourselves, and end up getting all stressed out in the process.
Sharlene Raven started a touching thread, titled “Do you have
anything positive to report?”, which has grown nicely, I hope you
can add your thoughts:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6270
##########
Don’t forget the Video Marketing Challenge. It runs a whole month,
so even if you have to miss a couple days because of vacation,
other commitments, or traveling to the Earn1KaDay seminar, there
will be plenty of time to catch up during the rest of the month.
So if you don’t have Camtasia already, make plans to start your 30
day trial plan soon, and start going through the tutorials if you
have to, so that you’re ready to rock and roll right after Dick
Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve and/or the football bowl games if
you’re in the U.S.
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6161
Just one or two time units per day is all it will take, and I’m sure
that you’ll get plenty of hints in that thread about what kind of
videos to make, tools to help you (such as Animoto and the music
I added this week), etc.
##########
Nathan Briggs started a thought and comment-provoking thread,
titled “Are you pricing yourself too low?”:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6273
In it he took an opportunity to tease us about an upcoming product
he and Michael Gunn are putting together, but above and beyond
that, it’s food for thought. If you’re releasing one or more
products in 2009, and you’re afraid to charge a fair price, you
could be shortchanging your income by tens of thousands of dollars,
not chump change.
##########
Steve Warwick (clickbuild) posted a success thread this week,
titled “2 more 1K days”:
http://www.earn1kaday.net/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6261
I’m thrilled to hear it, as he’s the main reason I can sleep better
nights now, realizing that security of the Earn1KaDay site is in
his capable hands. I don’t know how he achieved his 1K days, but
I’m certainly glad that it’s happening for him.
##########
That’s just a short review of some of the highlights, there is much
more going on all the time at the forum. Don’t be a stranger
there, that’s where the primary value of your membership is, after
all. We’re not there to chat so much (though there is a lounge
there if you want to unwind), we’re there to learn from each other,
and share with each other, and as you can see from the above sample
threads, there’s a lot of that happening.

Until next week, I wish you the very best in everything.
