Earn1KaDay News, Ready For a Life Changing Experience?

by 5buckguy

OK, time to get productive for me (you too, maybe). I spent a week
plus covering for my vacationing shipping manager in our warehouse,
and now he’s back and I’m catching up on some things. I look
forward to making real progress on things I’ve wanted to do and
fell behind on.

Hopefully the weather won’t be a factor. Hurricane Hanna is
supposed to bring her fury here beginning tonight around midnight,
she shouldn’t be a hurricane when she passes by here, but 2 to 5
inches of rain will flood some basements, and if power goes out for
an extended period, not allowing my sump pump to do its job, it
could be a mess. But it certainly could be worse, I’m not
complaining, just hoping that this doesn’t affect site access, as
my host is in North Carolina where they could get a much worse
effect. I’m not sure if the servers are there, but the offices
are. Anyway …

Here’s this week’s new downloads:

Instant Traffic With Squidoo and Hubpages:
/notloggedin.php
(this one actually is getting pretty good reviews with people going
“ah ha”, which as you know, I like to hear).

4 Quick and Easy Steps to Tracking Your Web Results:

(a report about how to effectively use Google Analytics)

The IM Big Book of Resources:

(I received a lot of requests for this, and it looks very helpful)

Forum threads of note:

The big discussion this week has centered around article marketing.
Becki started a thread here:
http://www.earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4897

talking about getting a great click through rate, and Gregg, in his
own inimitable fashion started talking about doing 30+ articles in
a day, which led to thought about an article writing marathon,
which led to some action, which led to this article writing
challenge:
http://www.earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4922

It’s a 24 hour event (no, you don’t have to stay awake for 24
hours, do what you can, as it’s a personal challenge). Just
because someone else says they’ll do 10 or 15 or 20 or more
articles in a day doesn’t mean you can’t join in, you don’t have to
beat them, just figure out what you think your best effort could
bring, and then stretch that a little more, and make that your
challenge to yourself. The challenge is to yourself, not to anyone
else.

Challenges have done very well in the past. Actually we’ve only
had MMS challenges, but they were popular, and for some very
profitable. One of the MMS challenges ended up with Gary Nave
saying his goal was to get 100 MMS sites done in a week. And he
did it! And he’s reported elsewhere the huge income increase he saw.

My main career break came from a Campaign Blasting Challenge run by
Matt Levenhagen at the old Web Profit School, well before I wrote 5
Bucks a Day, and actually gave me the confidence, and income, to
write 5 Bucks a Day, start Earn1KaDay, and more.

So yeah, I believe personal challenges, especially organized
personal challenges like this one, have the potential to be life
changing.

I expect that since article writing is easier for most (no hosting
required, for example, just set up or use your existing
ezinearticles account and you’re ready to roll), and no monetary
investment will be necessary, this event should get much more
participation than the MMS challenges did.

So let’s think about this a bit. You know that if you write
articles, you can make money. That’s a proven fact. Do you write
articles? If not, what’s stopping you? Probably inertia (a body
at rest tends to remain at rest, a body in motion tends to remain
in motion).

I know. I haven’t written articles for too long. I’m in this
challenge and looking forward to it.

What we want to accomplish here is to get people to take action for
24 hours in a way that will profit them (you), and to change their
inertia.

Somewhere Travis Sago, the Bum Marketer, has written than his
articles average $20 per month each. Now that’s huge. And to me,
that’s difficult to expect. I’m not a disbeliever, but Travis is a
great writer, he’s mastered the art, and many of his articles drive
traffic to recurring income sites, not that yours or mine can’t do
that.

But let’s say we aren’t as good as Travis (yet), let’s say that we
can expect income of only $5 per month per article. I talked to
StevenR yesterday, and he says that’s the range he normally sees in
his articles, maybe a little more.

Remember, that’s an average. Some articles will yield you nothing.
Some will be huge, we’re looking at averages, which means you
can’t just write a couple articles and expect them to perform at
those levels necessarily. It might take you a while to hit on the
right formula and right niche.

But let’s say you are willing to write enough articles so that the
averages work out, and you start earning $5 per article per month.
Remember, it isn’t just this month’s writing that will be earning
you money. Many if not most of those articles, once submitted to
the directories and approved, will earn you income for years.

So think about this. If you write 1000 articles, and they average
$5 a month each, you’re looking at a $5000/month income stream.
For most people, that’s enough to quit your day job. Just from the
articles! Of course you can have other income streams as well.

Does that sound like a lot of articles? 1000? Sure it is, but
over a year’s time, it’s less than 3 a day. You can do that. And
then next year you write another 1000 and your income keeps
building. I can do that. You can do that. And after a while,
once the money starts rolling in, you can outsource out of your
profits.

If each article earns you $5 a month on average, and you can get
good articles written for you that cost you about a month or even 2
months of projected income, why not leverage the talents of others?
You can spend your time finding topics to write about while
someone else is actually writing, and by the end of the year you
could have 2000, 3000, 5000 articles working for you instead of
just 1000.

Now that’s a nice projected income, isn’t it?

So, let’s get inertia going in the “body at motion tends to remain
in motion” phase and step up for one day, Tuesday, September 9th,
and see what you can do. Please post in the challenge thread (or
start your own personal challenge thread), that you’ll be joining
us, and what your personal goal is. I don’t care if it’s 2
articles, 5 articles, 50 articles.

This could be a very important 24 hour period in your career,
regardless of what else you’re doing. Article writing is one of
the key traffic generation sources, forget if you must all the
other tricks and techniques, if you can master this, you can have
virtually unlimited income at your disposal. Again, the thread is
here:

One other thing that will come out of this challenge, I hope.
Those of you that are successful, please let us know how you do, it
will motivate others. And those of you that have a problem,
whether it’s with article approval, getting your article read, or
your resource clicked on, whatever the problem is, if you ask for
help, especially while we’re all in tune with this challenge, I’m
sure you’ll get help, publicly, which will help not only you but
those too shy to ask for help.

Thanks to Becki, Stacy, Rachel, and Gregg for moving this idea into
the action phase so quickly. After this challenge is over, maybe
we can come up with another one in another way.

Moving on, here’s yet another success thread, April’s first $100
day, I can hardly wait for her to post about her first 1K day, I’m
sure it’s on the way:
http://www.earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4926

And Yadira posted a success thread last week with her methods, good
reading if you haven’t already:
http://www.earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4831

Rachel updated her earlier thread about mastermind groups this
week, with more good reading:
http://www.earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3915

Masterminds can also be life changing, and work in the strangest
ways when you get multiple people bouncing ideas around. I’m in a
mastermind and we talk on a free conference line weekly. It’s
almost scary in fact what can happen. We were talking about the
article writing challenge just yesterday, and someone brought up
the name of one of the top article marketers, and bam, the same day
that person joined Earn1KaDay (actually rejoined, he had been here
before, very quietly, and took a few months off):
http://www.earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4929

I highly recommend finding some mastermind partners to get together
with, you can do it all by phone, they don’t have to be near you,
with Skype and other tools, and no-cost conference lines available,
there’s no excuse anymore.

And lastly, I saw a blog post calling Earn1KaDay (and 5 Bucks a
Day) a cult. What do you think?
http://www.earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4923

There are many definitions to the word cult, most are fairly
negative, and center around religious extremism, but I’ll take this
definition from Wikipedia: Cult typically refers to a cohesive
social group devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding
culture considers outside the mainstream, with a notably positive
or negative popular perception.

I’ll take the positive spin on it, won’t you? In any event, it was
an interesting blog post, don’t you think?

That’s plenty for this week, I’ll talk to you next week, and
hopefully we’ll have some great success stories concerning the
article writing challenge by then!

Dennis, the 5 Bucks a Day Guy.
