Earn1KaDay News For Friday, August 29th

by 5buckguy

This is always a sad week for me. The last week before Labor Day,
which signals the end of summer. Not officially of course, but for
all practical purposes. How was your summer (for those in the
northern hemisphere)? Enjoyable? Profitable? Too short? Me too.

Here’s a new download for you:

Website Creation Course:

This is a fabulous report for less experienced IM’ers, which will
give you most of the basics of setting up a web site. More
experienced people will also benefit from skimming through it and
seeing what new tidbits you can pick up, and I trust there will be
several.

This is actually a good time to take advantage of this. At this
time of year, it’s not too early to start thinking about the
holidays, and getting your sites and pages ready, doing the things
that need to be done to get free traffic. Building authority sites
for example. Or your MMS’s for what could be hot gift items.

I wrote in “5 Bucks a Day” about my holiday campaign, and mentioned
how much more profitable it would have been if I had done things to
get top rankings. Well, starting in October or November, that’s
difficult to do except for long tail keywords, but starting in
early September, it’s very possible to get entrenched by doing some
of the things in Michael Gunn’s famous thread, or in StevenR’s 19
steps, for example. Those things take time, but if you take the
action now, your competitors won’t have time to react when they see
you’re in the top results in November and December.

Go for it!

I did something I should have done long ago this week, which was to
set up a store on Cafepress for Earn1KaDay merchandise. If you
want to take a peek, maybe there’s something that you could use to
keep your goal in front of you at all times like a mouse pad or a
journal (you are keeping that journal that Steven recommends,
right?), and of course some neat apparel:

There are some things there that I put on my holiday list, I can
never think of gift suggestions.

But beyond that, already several members have had the “ah ha, I
should do that too!” inspiration, and some have already set up a
Cafepress store of their own. It’s real easy, it took me less than
an hour, and if you have a cool idea, you could make a few extra
dollars here and there.

So far we haven’t had much response to the thread about the report
I put up last week with the Warriors Guide, the 99 top cash
producing ideas. I didn’t expect immediate feedback because after
all, it is a 200+ page book, but I was hoping there would be some
response. There are some great ideas in there, and I was hoping
that by now we’d see some response. As a reminder, here’s the
thread with the download and where you can discuss that report:

One thing that did come out of that thread was one of our members,
James Schramko, who had one of the 99 ideas that was in the report,
very generously gave members access to a great product of his (the
link is in that thread). Did you take advantage of that? He does
sell it on Clickbank, but is letting members have access, and
mentioned that if enough liked it, he’d make more available.

James also said this: “Many of the big things I am using right now
in my business were generated from ideas discussed in this forum. I
hope to give back a few.” It would be a shame to overlook not only
his product (which is very good), and his generosity, but also it
would be a shame to forget that there are tons of ideas in the
forum available every day from which you can make products of your
own.

Please, check that out, and let James know what you think.

Module 4 of the VRE Coaching Course was released this week. If you
received module 3 more than 4 days ago, you should have received an
email with a link to module 4 already. If not, let Gregg know:

and if you did receive it, and did go through it, let him know if
there are any questions or feedback. I know, sometimes it’s tough
operating in a vacuum, and feedback, positive or negative, is
important to keep us on track, so please post yours in that thread
if you can.

Well, last week I mentioned the discussion about eBay banning
affiliates. Reports from eBay are that it was a very limited
number of affiliates that got shut down, they say 300 out of
90,000. Still, one of our members did report that his account was
shut down.

So, though there isn’t a reason to panic and think the MMS business
model doesn’t work, you do at least need to monitor your niches
carefully, and if there are some that don’t perform as well as
others, you should get rid of them before their performance affects
your entire account.

It’s hard to say what the criteria is, but it’s safe to say that if
you’re sending a lot of traffic to eBay, and that traffic isn’t
buying anything, they won’t give you a lot of love. If you’re
getting more ACRU’s than winning bids, that might signal a problem
as well, regardless of how much you like those $25 commissions.
You want a good mix of sales and new registrations.

Well, I mentioned last week that I had to cover for my shipping
manager this week, so much as I’d like to research the rest of the
week’s forum posts and point to the good ones, I have to head on
down to the warehouse, so I’ll let you do your own reading.
There’s lots of good stuff there, and we’d like to see your
comments and ideas. Don’t be shy about starting new threads,
asking questions, or voicing your opinions.

So have a great weekend (3 day holiday if you’re in the U.S.), and
until next Friday, I wish you the best.

Dennis, the 5 Bucks a Day Guy.
