Exciting (I Hope) Changes Coming to Earn1KaDay

by 5buckguy

Good morning, and thank you for reading. What a beautiful day it
is in northern New Jersey, sunny and temperatures in the high 70′s
or beyond today, just the way I love it. It seems like summer is
almost here after a very short winter and spring. This weather
puts me in a very good mood, I’ve got my office window open, can
hear the birds chirping. Life is good.

I’ve been contemplating things this week, and I have a plan that I
think you’ll like, it’s main design is to improve member retention,
and of course to do that I need to continually provide more value
to everyone, even those who don’t take as much advantage of the
forum community as others. But first …

Here’s are week’s downloads:

Earn a Full Time Income Through Freelance Writing:

This one is actually pretty good for aspiring writers. Read this,
and if you’re not already, take advantage of the Sell Your Writing
Online membership that comes with Earn1Kaday, and you could do well.

An old interview with me about the 5 Bucks a Day strategy:
http://earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3308
This was an interview made and edited by a real professional, Mike
Lamb, one of the early 5 Bucks a Day readers. You might like it.
I found it in the archives when a member suggested that Ian Sneddon
interview me, and I mentioned that I had one available somewhere.
Here it is. It’s a little outdated, for example I talk about how
great it is for eBay to pay $12 each for new registrations (now
it’s $25), but overall the interview is still relevant.

Subliminal Affirmations for 5 Bucks a Day Success:

This is an old one as well, I posted it long ago over at the
5bucksaday.com forum, and moved it here after getting lots of good
feedback, privately as well as publicly, about the Mental Refresher
audio that was uploaded the week before. This one is a little
different, it’s has suggestions as well as binaural beats, and can
be very effective. Read the thread for more information.

Have you picked up Michael Gunn’s video series yet about aWeber?
It’s really good. I’ve made some changes to some of my email
campaigns, based on things I learned from his videos. In fact, one
of the tricks is going to end up benefiting all the members, and
you won’t even need to know about how I’m accomplishing it, because
it will be completely transparent. Nuff said.

Here’s where to get Michael’s videos, if you don’t learn anything,
you have my personal guarantee, I’ll personally refund 100% of your
purchase price:

I just noticed a nice post today by Carl Pruitt about success he’s
having with article writing, using Unique Article Wizard, his blog,
and AdBoxPro. I recommended AdBoxPro before, but never thought
about putting it on blogs and driving article traffic there. Great
technique, thanks for sharing that with us, Carl. Remember, you
can still pick up AdBoxLite for nothing here (or upgrade to the
AdBoxPro version after you’re convinced it’s for you):

Don’t forget about converting your eBay pages to the new ePN. I
have a bunch to do yet, a big bunch. I think my editor kit ones
are done. I now have the new version of AS:e, so that should be
easy, just a matter of testing after installing the new software.
If you own AS:e, you should have gotten an email this week from
Bobby Griggs with an attachment, if you’re still waiting, look for
it in a spam folder or something.

Next week, I’ve slotted for converting all my RSS feeds. That will
take more time and testing, I think, but by this time next week, I
hope to be done.

Now, I mentioned a plan for the Earn1KaDay.com site. I’ve been
noticing a problem lately. I don’t think it might affect long time
members so much, but it definitely affects new members. That’s a
feeling of being overwhelmed by everything in the site, and not
knowing where to go first. I have that feeling myself at Wealthy
Affiliate when I go over there, I get completely stressed out by it
all. Great site, but where to start?

Remember, Earn1KaDay.com is 11 months old today, so there has been
some growth.

I think the thing is, you old timers got things delivered to you
over a period of time. A few new downloads every week, and you
kept up to date easily. And new threads in the forum, easy to read
the 500 new posts a week if you really wanted to, or even easier to
keep up with the business models that you were primarily concerned
with.

New members are faced with a history of over 26,000 posts right
now, and a download area that contains about 150 products. Yes,
I’ve moved the top threads and the top downloads to a separate
area, which I think helped, but the shame is that the 140 downloads
that aren’t in the top downloads area are buried so deep that new
members don’t get to them.

So what I intend to do is to start removing the majority of the
reports in the download area, and moving it to an archives section.
And then, setting up an email list for new members that drip feeds
the old reports to them on a weekly basis, in addition to the
weekly email everyone gets now (this one). That way, I think each
report will get more attention.

The other problem, and this might be just a grudge I’ve held
against a small number of people that have taken advantage of the
membership, is that people can join, download everything, and
cancel, spending $29.95 on the same content (minus the forum
threads, of course), that some members have paid for over the
course of 11 months.

Why does that matter to you? Well, I think deep down inside, I
have resisted to some extent rolling out higher price products to
the membership, because I’ve been frustrated by the “hit and run”
members that only ever intend to pay for a single month. That
hasn’t been fair to the loyal long term members, and I want to end
that resistance and frustration.

With my new organization, no current member will lose a thing, even
if they’ve only been a member for a day as of the cut over. After
the cut over, new members that join will see a smaller download
area, and be automatically placed on an email list that delivers
what used to be there to them via an autoresponder, one or two
“old” (but evergreen) reports at a time, every 5 to 7 days.

Current members will have access to a link to a password protected
page that has a list of everything in the archives, hopefully
easier to search through than the current forum section. Brand new
members won’t get that link to the archives right away.

And current members will be invited to join a new email list that
will deliver premium content, including things I have on my hard
disk already, higher priced offerings that I’ve been reluctant to
purchase in the past, and new reports written by myself, or
specifically for the “veteran” members. This will all be stuff
that has never been placed in the download area. Probably
something will be sent out through this list every 2 to 4 weeks.

New members will be invited to get onto the new email list after
they’ve been active members for a while (I’m thinking like 4 months).

So, again, current members won’t lose anything, they’ll gain. All
you’ll have to do is bookmark the archives page when it’s ready,
and join a new email list in addition to this one. Brand new
members after the cut over will automatically be added to the “old
downloads” list, but current members could join it as well, if
you’d like to have things drip fed to you a bit at a time.

For more information, and to discuss the changes, I set up this
thread:
http://earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3336

You should read the blog entry if you haven’t already, and the
entire thread, because my original idea met a very small amount of
criticism, and this new plan supersedes my original thoughts.
Also, if anyone can help by suggesting a script to make it easier
to set up the archives search page, I mention in that thread what I
would like it to do.

That’s it for this week, as always I wish you the absolute best in
all that you do and receive.

Dennis, the 5 Bucks a Day Guy.
