How’s your week been? Busy? Profitable? Fulfilling? Fun? All
of the above, I hope? I think mine has, for the most part, but
it’s always frustrating when you’re so busy you can’t do everything
you want to do, and I’m at that point this week. I hope by this
time next week, I can make a couple major announcements that might
interest some of you.
This week’s downloads are here:
Article Helper (helps you write and organize your articles):
/notloggedin.php
Split Testing Report (explains why you should split test, and the
parts of your page that are the most important factors in improving
conversions):

Rank Well With Wikis (more about this below):

I decided to go ahead and do the wiki report after last week’s
encouraging poll results. Thanks to everyone who participated and
left their comments. I started writing the report on Friday,
started planning the videos on Saturday, and did something unusual,
which was to go into the office on Sunday morning to do them. I
was aiming to get everything done before the Super Bowl, but had
some problems with Camtasia which meant they didn’t get done until
after the game was over, it was a long day (yes, I did break to
watch the game).
I think the report/video turned out pretty well based on what I
wanted to teach, I’d really appreciate any feedback and
testimonials in the download thread above, I’m pretty sure I’ll be
selling the series in a WSO sometime soon. I don’t think there’s a
risk of ruining a good “secret” any more than all the reports on
Squidoo and WordPress haven’t really dampened the effectiveness of
those sites.
One thing that I think helps bring Google running to index your new
wikis is this page:
http://www.wikidot.com/list-all-sites
It’s a list of all wikidot wikis that have a reasonable number of
pages. Get yours claimed and listed there, it will help. I also
noticed this today. If you go to the home page of wikidot.com,
page down and click on the search tab, you’ll see a section to
browse by tags, which lists some of the more popular tags. If your
wiki is tagged appropriately, it seems like you can pick up some
extra link juice.
For example, I clicked on the tag for tutorial, and there were only
a few wikis listed on that page. One was for magic, so I clicked
on that and it’s really a nothing site, looks like it’s still under
construction. But … the main wiki page has a PR4 page rank!
It’s not always the case that a good page rank will get you extra
traffic, but it sure can’t hurt to have a PR5 page on an authority
site like wikidot.com linking to your page.
I also noticed on the “what’s hot” tab, it lists the wikis with the
most changes over a period of time, 7 days is the default. It
shouldn’t be difficult to get listed there if you really tried,
wikidot considers any new page, or modified page, to be a change,
and the numbers to get listed aren’t all that high. Also there’s a list
of the top forums, right now to get listed on the page a forum only
needed 38 posts in a week! I haven’t played with wikidot forums,
and probably won’t, but it seems wide open for some of you.
Back to regular stuff. The MMS challenge ended last week. It was
great to see so much success and learning come out of it. Whether
you did 100 sites like Gary, or just a few because your were new to
the process, you should be proud of the fact that you exerted the
effort and at the end of the week had whatever success you had,
even if the only success was that you learned something.
Some members have decided to post their own personal challenges,
and that’s great, you don’t have to wait for the next organized
challenge. Do you need a reason to motivate you? Probably not,
but just in case, here’s a thread that will blow you away:
http://earn1kaday.com/members/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2683
Once you get a little bit of experience, then it becomes a numbers
game. If you take enough action to do the numbers, it will be very
difficult for you to fail. I can’t promise everyone will make
1K a day (consistently) after “only” doing 100 MMS blasts, but
you might. You won’t be the first one to do it, so it’s like the
original 4 minute mile that I like to mention, once somebody does
it, others are sure to follow. More importantly, once you do it
yourself, it will become easier and easier.
Every month we’re getting more and more people posting about their
first 1K day, keep them coming. If you’ve done it and are shy
about posting, don’t be. Read the thread I just pointed to above
all the way through. Gary was shy in the beginning, I asked him to
post his success story back in December, and he’s now become kind
of a role model for MMS success, he’s doing better than I am now,
and I don’t mind at all. Maybe I’ll take a week off other things
and see if I can get another 100 of them out there myself.
One last thing I’m happy to mention is the January Member of the
Month award. The choice is never easy, but this month’s was easier
than most because of his great unselfish posts, and I’m speaking of
StevenR. Here’s the official announcement:

That’s it for now. As always, I wish you nothing but the best.
