Great news, but …
First I want to mention this week’s download if you haven’t been to
the forum lately. It’s a fabulous report by JD Swanson, about how
to create small, low cost, niche membership sites. You really
should download and read it, even if membership sites aren’t in
your immediate plans, it will give you an idea for future consideration:

I have another relatively high priced item I’m waiting to add to the
download area, I’m not permitted to do so until the WSO for it
closes, and it’s been 2 weeks already but I looked last night and
it’s still running, so I guess I have to wait another week. All WSO’s
close automatically in 3 weeks if the author doesn’t do so earlier.
Now before the news, I have one request, which won’t apply to most of
you, but if it does … When you joined, you selected a user name
and password which lets you into the members area and forum. But, in
order to be able to post at the forum, you need to register at the
forum also, as a separate step. Looking at the numbers of members,
and at the numbers of registered forum members, we’re missing over
60 members there. Please, if you’re reading this, and you haven’t
officially registered at the forum, please do so. It will be for
your benefit, I assure you.
Now, for the great news. If you visit the forum at all, you know
Michael Gunn, he’s actually the 2nd most prolific poster there
(next only to yours truly), and he seems to have found a technique
to expand the success of the Mini Money Site concept. Here’s
what happened, as far as I can tell:
First Michael watched the MMS videos, and started building sites.
He had some quick initial success with eBay registrations, but
they fell off after the beginning. He sat down and tried to figure out
a way to encourage more of those actions, since a new registration
carries a $25 commission, plus all the commissions from winning
bids in their next 7 days (which can be extensive, I’ve found, new
eBay users tend to go on shopping sprees).
Sure enough, Michael came up with a technique that he tested and
was super successful. This proves what I’ve said before, you don’t
need to come up with new ideas, you just need to take an existing
one and make it better, make it unique, make it your own, and you
can do very well.
Michael took an idea, came up with a clever twist (or tweak as he
calls it), took action, and got improved numbers on the eBay new
registrations. And then he took more action. He shot a video showing
exactly what he did.
I’m very happy that Michael released this video to our forums (1KaD
and 5BaD) first before anywhere else, and he’s giving us a very
generous price of only $5 for not only the video, but also a video that
you have permission to use on your own eBay pages. Considering
that he found a tweak that seems to double or triple new registrations,
you really shouldn’t overlook this one. I bought it myself, and I can
vouch for the fact that it’s a great idea. I haven’t implemented it
yet, but I will very soon, I promise. It will be easy to implement into
the existing structure.

I’ve encouraged him to take it to the next level as a Warrior Special
Offer, but at a higher price (even $17 would be a great value), and he’s
probably going to have to end our $5 offer before he does that, so don’t
put it off.
Even if you can’t use this, learn from Michael. He found an idea, he
made it a better idea, he took action, and I suspect when he runs
his Warrior Special Offer, he’ll easily have at least one, maybe two,
1K days. If nothing else, buy his video for a quick flash of inspiration,
isn’t that worth 5 bucks?
