I discovered a nifty software that is free and or pretty cheap that organizes your desktop files into fences. It is called Fences by Stardock. Once you have created/named a fence, you stick all similar files in it. Then what is the coolest thing of all is that you can double click on the desktop and poof the files “disappear”. Then when you want to see them again just double click and poof they are back. Great for those times when you feel like being Zen-like Highly recommended!

Thank you Rachel for the tips. I have a LOT of icons, folders and files on my desktops, which are items that I planned to work on, but…well, I get overwhelmed just to see all of them on my desktop!

I love your idea about using a calendar. I’ve tried using iCal on my Mac, which I used to sync on my iPod Touch. However, I found using calendars on a device (Macbook, iPod Touch) makes me felt like I lost a personal touch on my calendaring system..and now I just print out my iCal calendar and jot down my tasks and plans manually on the printed iCal calendar. I feel so much better that way, hehe.

Thomas Leonard Thank you so much for that Thomas!! And YES!! I totally agree about the emails. I’m on barely anyone’s lists for that very reason… although, to be fair, most people take action on the “buy” emails than the “content emails”, so it seems like that’s what people want!
