And WOW… THREE monitors? Crazy!!

I have my desktop monitor + a 24 inch one. I actually never seem to use the 24 inch one any more since I very rarely have more than one tab open at a time, but I know I could be utilizing it more. Thanks for the reminder.

one more idea I find VERY useful, work with dual monitors if doing computer work. set them up to expand the desktop, that way you can easily open more applications that you might need for your work and you don’t have to alt-tab (or windows-tab for airo users) through the running applicating. Set the screens up so you have all the info right before you. Also, make sure the monitors are big enough. (I have 3 24″ monitors working for me).

Great tips, and indeed, getting into the flow is something we all need to do. Disclose distractions etc. Not easy these days but once you get the hang of it you like it.
One thing I would like to add is that once you start working at high speed your brain gets addicted to it (hence the existence of speed-reading, better memory use etc) Setting specific goals in terms off “what and when” is the way to get things done. What I miss is that prioritizing tasks before starting them is a good way of doing the things at the right time.

I bought this course and found many helpful tips. I recommend it. I especially like the idea of timing your tasks. That has really helped me be more productive especially when as a writer, I want to write and I feel overwhelmed. I think a story is going to take a long time so I’ll say, “Okay, I am going to take 1 hour or 90 minutes on this.” It really helps to get me out of overwhelm and it helps on other tasks as well.
In fact I needed this reminder today on a task I am putting off. I just decided to take 30 minutes and set the timer. If I do it in 30 minute increments, I will get it done! Thanks for the reminder.

Some very solid advice here Rachel. I didn’t have to read any further than Step 1. Having that forcing function of a time commitment is HUGE. In fact, I make my due dates for most projects shorter than they need to be to FORCE myself into action.

For example, I released my membership product with Dennis this week only 7 days after starting it. I committed to Dennis that it would be done by then so the accountability you talk about kicked in and made me get it done.

Everyone should follow your advice to the letter and they will be super surprised with the results.
